Prison versus Work

Here's a little something to get you ready for the job tomorrow:

Just in case you ever get these two environments mixed up, this should make things a little bit clearer.

At prison you spend the majority of your time in a 10X10 cell.

At work you spend the majority of your time in an 8X8 cubicle.

At prison you get three meals a day fully paid for.
At work you get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it.

At prison you get time off for good behavior.
At work you get more work for good behavior.

At prison the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
At work you must often carry a security card and open all the doors for yourself.

At prison you can watch TV and play games.
At work you could get fired for watching TV and playing games.

At prison you get your own toilet.
At work you have to share the toilet with some people who pee on the seat.

At prison they allow your family and friends to visit.
At work you aren't even supposed to speak to your family.

At prison all expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required.

At work you get to pay all your expenses to go to work, and they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners and welfare.

At prison you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.
At work you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

At prison you must deal with sadistic wardens.
At work they are called managers.

THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!

***********

An update: I am finally re-entering the land of the living. The fever broke about 4pm, and I got hungry for the first time in 3 days. I was able to sit here for about 20-30 minutes before I had to lie down, so maybe by tomorrow I can resume my visits to all of you.

I will pass this prison/work perspective onto my co-workers tomorrow....... very interesting!!

Your little tale is fine, Judy. EXCEPT: Prisoners don't get to look at buttcrack like we normal people do.

I'm glad you're feeling better, that stomach ick isn't any fun.

I'm starting to think I'd be better off checking myself into the nearest prison instead of going in to work tomorrow.

I'm glad you are feeling a little better now, Mrs. Kenju. That's a funny comparison to work and prison, although now that I work part-time at something I really love, I sure can't complain myself. By the way, we have a relative in his third year in prison this go-around--and they do have to work. D's current assignment is trash (120 degrees outside) but he likes this better than "raking the desert" which was his last job. Our prisons in CA are so dreadfully overcrowded now they are apparently like hell. But I know that your humorous comparison was just that--for laughs.

I'm glad you are feeling a little better. Here's to hoping you are 100% in no time!

Now, where can I get my hands on a mattress tag to rip off? Jail sounds pretty tempting when put that way! :P

Oy, I hope you feel better soon. Sounds perhaps like food poisoning? Or just a really bad virus. Yikes!

Per your request, thunderstorms are headed your way tonight and tomorrow. Glad to help.

Oh, and glad you're feeling better too!

Lord Judy, you sound like this was a very very bad illness....Glad to read the fever broke!

Prison doesn't sound all that bad, in a way, does it? Though.....LOL!

As to Carol Burnett, no, I didn't get to watch any of her show....I just put up those pictures to remind us all of some of the shows we ALL 'of a certain age' useed to watch which were Emmy winners! And I so agree with you...And I think there is going to be a DVD of her shows---well, some of them---one of these days.
We have NOTHING on television like that show, these days....Musical Variety shows are completly out of fashion, I'm sorry to say...!
