Gettin' Historified

The Four "J's". My grandchildren on a trip to Washington, DC.
I think we're pretty lucky that none of them fell into that "cement pond"!

You know, I lived in the shadow of that monument for the majority of my life - and I still never get tired of seeing it.

I like the perspective of this photograph too - makes me happy.

Judy...I love that picture! Talk about wonder! I am wondering what they were thinking looking down the mall like that.

Terrific photo!

I just knew that Hippo Eats Dwarf story was a crock! I WOULD believe it if the headline said Dwarf Eats Hippo. :)

That's a beautiful sight. Your grandchildren are fortunate to have been there. I didn't get to Washington until I was 51.

Boy, I'm glad Michelle sent me. That's one of those pictures you should blow up and hang on a wall in your home. Gorgeous.

All the places I've been in the world and I've never been to D.C. That is really a great photo.

The stair step look is great. I think had it been summer, you might have had trouble keeping them from jumping in.

As for those flowers... creeping flox? I looked in the list of the garden's flowers and flox wasn't listed although I lean towards that too. I didn't have a picture of the leaves and I know the leaves are as important as the blooms for identification. I felt good getting it narrowed down to three.
