You know, I lived in the shadow of that monument for the majority of my life - and I still never get tired of seeing it. I like the perspective of this photograph too - makes me happy.
Judy...I love that picture! Talk about wonder! I am wondering what they were thinking looking down the mall like that.
Terrific photo!I just knew that Hippo Eats Dwarf story was a crock! I WOULD believe it if the headline said Dwarf Eats Hippo. :)

That's a beautiful sight. Your grandchildren are fortunate to have been there. I didn't get to Washington until I was 51.
Boy, I'm glad Michelle sent me. That's one of those pictures you should blow up and hang on a wall in your home. Gorgeous.
All the places I've been in the world and I've never been to D.C. That is really a great photo.
Beautiful shot! I have never been to D.C. I so want to take my kids before they are grown and gone!Chelle
I love the way they're lined up by height! Hey, it looks nice over here!!
purty. D.C. is a great town for siteseeing, especially as a kid.
What a great photo Judy. I bet that's a memory they'll keep!~S
The stair step look is great. I think had it been summer, you might have had trouble keeping them from jumping in.As for those flowers... creeping flox? I looked in the list of the garden's flowers and flox wasn't listed although I lean towards that too. I didn't have a picture of the leaves and I know the leaves are as important as the blooms for identification. I felt good getting it narrowed down to three.
A great photo, Judy.
What a beautiful picture! Love this wonderful view!Have a nice Sunday!
Great picture! I used to live very near there in Alexandria.Hugs
