When I opened the door at work Friday morning, the lovely aroma of Sorbonne and casablanca lilies nearly swept me off my feet. Usually, after I have been there for an hour or so, the smell of the flowers fades - but not today! I could smell them just as well at 3 pm as I could at 9 am. I wish we had smell-a-vision so you'd know how wonderful the fragrance is.
Here is an overview of about half of the flower varieties for today; bells of Ireland, snapdragons, 5 kinds of orchids, hydrangeas, tulips, roses, ranunculus, wax flower, calla lilies - a more beautiful feast for the eyes than I showed you last week. Click to embiggen.
This is one of the wrist corsages I made: cymbidium orchid, bay leaves, wax flower and silver accents.
A groomsman's boutonniere: green cymbidium orchid florets with bay leaves. The bay has a wonderfully sweet, clean smell.
Mel made the bridesmaid's bouquet at left. Green cymbidium orchids, pink calla lilies, Virginia roses.
I made this groom's boutonniere: a Schwarzwalder (sp?) calla lily, two James Storeii orchid florets, bay leaves and silver accents.
Mel made this bride's bouquet: a hand-tied cascade (very large and very heavy); a gorgeous bouquet owing to the lush, sensual colors of the flowers.
A detail of the bride's bouquet. I had to lighten the photo quite a bit, so the colors are quite distorted. There were rhinestone jewels in the dark red roses - per the bride's request.
We deliver all this and more to the wedding and reception today. I am hoping we will be able to get some good photos of the ceremony and reception flowers; the colors are so exquisite!

Gorgeous! I love those bouquets. every one of them....and I really love the wrist corsage. Thanks Judy.
I want your job! I know you work so hard but the flowers are just delicious and the colors and the perfume! And when I look at flowers like the ones in this post I also think about the pleasure in the day and all the delightful memories you are creating. I really love these floral posts.
OMG I could ALMOST smell them lol, but alas, I only wish! Such lovely flowers!! Thanks so much for sharing!
I could not sleep. Up and turned on computer. Oh, the flowers are absolutely beautiful. I can smell their scent over the miles.
Thank you for this early morning treat.
Your post - interesting - do we really see what is reality?
Judy, your corsages are so lovely. Wish I was getting married again over there! In 1960 it was all very restrained. All our photos are black and white and its hard to see what we all sported in our lapels!
That bride's bouquet is very, very beautiful, but I've never seen such a dark one before. I would think she would be tired of carrying it and holding it for photos, etc. afterwards! But it is lovely!
I love he wrist corsage. Are they heavy?
Beautiful flowers, as always.
Oh a bit different from the normal arrangements. I like them.
Just what I needed on a dreary spring morning.
You answered a question I kept failing to ask and that is if you ever got immune to the aroma. Thanks for that answer.
Next thought I keep failing to ask, do you still cry at weddings after so many?
Love the green orchids. :)
Just lovely, so well described I could almost smell them. We love fresh flowers in our home and I often cut some from the few we grow throughout our front bushes.
In my next life, (when I retire) I will once again have a small cutting garden.

Some really unusual creation there.
The bridesmaid's bouquet reminds me of Naomi.
This is the time of year when the bay blossom is out. We have an enormous amount and they smell divine.
I can think of nothing nicer than to smell lovely fragrances all day.
Beautiful arrangements. Just reading your post brought back memories of how good it smells when you first open the door at a florist.
Once again, beautiful! It has to be gratifying to be artistic and work in a job that allows you to express that talent.
Thanks for sharing those beautiful flowers.
I love .the bridesmaid's bouquet
Your life is much more colorful than mine ! Lovely.
