From a recent copy of The New Yorker Magazine.

I'm sure you have people about whom you say this - I just hope it isn't me!

You read the New Yorker! Yes! I LOVE bek. And yes, I have tons of "friends" who send me forwarded e-mails ... *sigh*.

Welcome to your new blog. :-)

Hope its not me......

Never see the New Yorker here, but I've seen some of the cartoons, and they are very, very funny!

I never hit the "forward" button, but I don't mind getting them. It may be something I've seen before or maybe not. I take the chance every time! LOL.

Oh yes, I have a friend who automatically hits forward and send on "everything" that crosses his computer. Sometimes, he gets a good one out by accident so all is not lost. Besides, it keeps him out of the bars.

Guilty as charged. I forward too many e-mails, I'm afraid.

It's not you, Judy. You are a dear friend to all.

I've pretty much put the word out I don't relish receiving those forwarded emails and posted as much in one of my early blog pieces. One friend persists in sending them when I would much rather have just a personal message from her, even if it's only one sentence long and have told her so, but to no avail. I've even told her she's the only one I've left on an old email address that I don't even check regularly any more. I gave her my newer regular email address if she wants to write personally. I guess people just get all caught up in that stuff, but the novelty does wear off and there's a never never ending supply of it. And jokes --- pages and pages -- please save me! And, I do love to laugh.

Another new friend is the only other person who added me to a list of her friends. We've talked and she would stop if I asked her to. What she and those friends come up with are generally really unique, off the beaten track, good different, unusual videos and the like often pertaining to art, music, some science -- some really funny ones. I just don't get around to looking at many of them, but that's okay.

It isn't that some of all these well-written and interesting, it's just that I don't have time to read them. I don't send them on. I prefer to do other reading or activities.
