Inanition
\in-uh-NISH-uhn\, noun:
1. The condition or quality of being empty.
2. Exhaustion, as from lack of nourishment.
3. Lack of vitality or spirit.
So.........that's me right now. At least as it applies to blogging. I usually have 3-4 posts written and ready to post, but not this time. The cupboard is bare. Probably the wet, dreary weather has something to do with that. We needed rain; we are (or were) below normal for rainfall, but I suspect now we are over that hurdle. It has been raining or overcast for the last 5 days and it is definitely wearing on me.
Until I get my groove back, I'll just wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day. Wear green and blow me a kiss , 'cause I'm Irish. Well, I'm Irish in my mind and soul. I grew up with an Irish family, and I've always looked somewhat Irish but I discovered that my birth parents were Scots/English. It's fine with me, but I still feel Irish. Is that okay with you Grannymar?

We're all Irish on St. Pat's, Judy! You can be as Irish as you wanna be!!!!
I think we're getting the same word lists. I liked 'inanition', too. I'm there with ya, sis!!!
And yeah, too many grey days depress me.
Hugsssssssss
Take it easy, celebrate St. Patrick (Scots and Irish are very close - both from same Celtic root) and wait for the sun!
Only once in a while do I have posts sitting waiting to be published. I mostly shoot from the hip, and that is probablby evident in my writing sloppiness. Time to breathe in and out for a while.
Err and go bra(less) and all that good St. Paddy's stuff!
Judy,
Happy St Patrick's Day!
Not familiar with the word, but I know how you feel. Lately, I have not seemed to have anything to blog about. I think that's why I'm doing so many memes. But spring is coming. Almost here! And I'm anticipating a return of energy and inspiration. Meantime, I guess we both have to coast for a little while.
Eww, such a depressing word. So sorry your cupboard is bare, though your post doesn't show it. Are we supposed to have a cupboard? Good idea.
"Let the rain replenish your mind while it is replenishing your aquifer." That is a 1/4 Irish blessing from a 1/4 Irish lady.
It is interesting to read how many of us are in a real funk about our blog writing. You have expressed what a lot of others are saying. I feel the same. Wonder what will spur us on to blog happiness? Meanwhile Judy you continue to find fun and interesting topics to share.
Judy,
Your cupboard may be bare today but usually you have one of the most interesting and entertaining sites in the Blogosphere.
I love your photos and your travelogues and your flower arranging adventures. They are all worth a trip to your site daily. You seldom disappoint..
So, today you are a little "Down" because of the weather.Maybe we can all cheer you up with our words..
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY, JUDY....
Happy St. Patrick's Day! I found out my birth mother has Irish roots, so I guess I really am (at least partly) Irish! :-)
So no doubt that is where 'inane ' came from - empty. void , silly. How I often feel when trying to write a stimulating post.
BTW Judy have I missed Hoss's obit that he was writing himself?
I was named after St Patrick - obviously, but my saintliness just came naturally:)
I'm Italirsh...we are all sisters and brothers today.
Happy St. Patrick's Day, Judy.
Sorry you are feeling down due to gray days. They depress me too and I think that's why I love Arizona so much. I can't remember every having two gray days in a row here. In fact, our storms move in and out so fast there is usually sunshine sometime every day.
Boy, 'inanition' is a new word for me.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Take a break if you need to, we'll be here when you come back.
We didn't get nearly enough rain from that system. Looks like the drought is in year three here.
I always get a little panicky when I don't have a blog entry ready, but I space mine about 4-5 days apart. I don't know how you do it daily !
You deserve a rest, Judy. Enjoy!
Here's to sunshine for you, Judy!
I understand the feeling, Judy...! And I'm with you! Never heard that word before...It's a GOOD One!
I hope the "drearies" leave your neck of the woods, very very soon, my dear.
I love when you post word stuff.
The ferry from Hull to Logan airport was decorated for St. Patrick's Day. I did feel a little silly taking pictures of it. We should wear Blog pass badges so people will know.
Happy Paddy's.
It takes an experienced blogger to come up with a post on not having a post :)
Happy St. P's Day!
I know that feeling, maybe the rain will fill your will! I like the photo at the top
Me too, that word summs up exactly how I have been feeling for a few weeks now. It's exhausting in itself.
I hope you perk up soon :)
A belated Happy St Patrick's Day Judy! On March 17th Everyone is Irish.
I was busy watching American bands entertain us in the St Patrick's Festival in Dublin, Ireland. The whole parade took two hours to pass but we had sunshine and it was good fun.
