I will not admit to being at that point (yet) but I suspect it's in my future.

Today is my baby's birthday!! I can't believe it has been this long since my last child was born. I was just two weeks shy of thirty. She came home this weekend, and I will bake a pineapple upside-down cake, per her request. Last night we had pork chops, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and ice cream. Boy, was I full!
After dinner, we watched a movie - "Into the Wild". She had read the book, but she says the movie is not much like the book. The movie was directed by Sean Penn. The only actors in it that I recognized were Hal Holbrook and Vince Vaughan. I enjoyed it, but it seemed to me that the main character was off his rocker at least part of the time. It was sort of hard to figure out, not having read the book first. The scenery was fantastic, though, and Sage, I kept thinking of you and your wilderness treks all through the movie.

I've noticed a few senior moments like that too that I won't rush to publicize.
My senior moments are routinely forgetting where I park!!! Kids are what keep each day brightest.
Judy,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
I love Pickles!
Happy birthday to your baby.
Happy Birthday to your baby! My oldest will be 38 tomorrow. We are both blessed with easy going Libras! Time certainly does fly.
If you ever figure out INTO THE WILD please explain it to me. It broke my heart that my goddaughter had recommended it and thought the young man was justified in all his actions. I guess I watched it from a mama's viewpoint.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR BABY GIRL!! :)
That Cartood is funny but a bit scary, too...Like you,,I am not there yet, but....but.....but....lol!
Happy Birthday to your "baby"....Dinner sounded quite yummy...!
I saw "INTO THE WILD" many months ago and I think it is a good film, but not a GREAT one, This is the movie that Hal Holbrook got his Academy Award Nomionation for. I thought he should have won...!!!
Cartood??? LOL
CARTOON! I don't even know how my little finger got on that "d"...!
The book is on my *to read* list soon. I enjoyed the movie, but it didn't seem up to Krakauer's writing.
Pickles is one of my favorite cartoons. I remember a doctor telling a patient how to tell if he is getting Alzheimer's. He said, "If you forget where you left your car keys, you're normal. If you forget you have a car, you're in trouble."
Happy Birthday to your 'baby'. The 15th was the 33rd birthday of my youngest and so I know what you mean. Unfortunately, we are very far apart with him in California and me in Hungary. However, for compensation my daughter is here visiting and the two of us celebrated her brother's birthday! :)
Won't get into the forgetful stories - too many of them and they are only funny after a long time. :)
Happy Birhtday to your Baby!!
Michele sent me to say hello this evening. I used to read that comic strip all the time (when I had money to buy a newspaper more than once or twice a month) I missed that one- it's hilarious.
Happy birthday to your daughter!
Haven't seen "Into The Wild" yet- it sounds good though
Happy Birthday to your baby...
Judy, I'm sorry to report that you are right.... it IS in your future!!!!
You are such a good mom. I told my daughter I was going to cook for her tonight after she gets off work. Am I a bad mom because I don't feel like cooking at midnight now?
Happy Birthday, Judy's baby!!!!
And yeah, I'd forget my head if it weren't attached.
I guess when a person gets THAT forgetful, dementia has set in. I often walk across the house with a purpose in mind and when I get there, I forget what I was going there for... Oh, Lord! It's happening to me!
Now.. whose blog is this??
Oh, have a good day, Hoss.
:-)
Happy Belated b-day to your daughter!
You're a good mommy, Kenju.
Oh gee, thanks for the mention. I missed this. I've not seen the movie, but my goal is always to come out alive and with some money still in the bank!
Happy birthday to your daughter.
You've been busy. I've been reading but not getting around to commenting. You're so good at posting regularly!
