Interesting Inventions

This bed would be fun, I think, but it might give new meaning to the term "creaky bed springs". It strikes me as giving a sort of a water bed feeling without the possibility of a messy leak.

This may not fall into the "inventions" category, but I thought you should see what is being heralded as the next big thing for cake toppers. It is called cake jewelry. It sits on a layer of blueberries and buttercream icing balls. Yum. I am not sure what the "orb" would be used for after the reception, but it is a better keepsake than the traditional bride and groom.......no? At least it is more durable.

I love this door knob! So welcoming and friendly - but I'd hate to have to polish it as frequently as I imagine it would require.

Haven't there been times when you would have welcomed a drop-proof glass? I know I have needed them! It seems like this is a good idea in a child-size, too.

I'm not sure what country's measurements include a 95 waist (certainly not inches), but this might be a good idea. It might help keep people from over indulging, wouldn't it?
P.S. My mom would be 100 tomorrow, had she not died in 1985.
P.P.S. I got a great gift today; I found out that my daughter has a 4.0 average in nursing school!!

Wow...a lot of neat things to look at there. I would enjoy the doorknob if it fit up against my hand...but only if it were clean. I would kind of find it a romantic thing if it were on a part of the house where just me and Husband were (if modeled after Husband's hand).

This was a really interesting post that Michele sent me to see. :-)

Whatta belt! Don't think I'd want to be wearing that out in public these years -- but there was a day...

Hope you had a great Mother's Day!

I like your new header(s) and glad you're having fun changing them around. Always something new to look forward to here.

That cake top is very interesting..! It is pretty and delicate...And that one looks like you could put the traditional Bride & Groom figures in there if you were so inclined. The Bed? LOL! I agree with you!
And that Door Knocker is very clever!
I love that Belt but would not wabt to use it right now...LOL!
Great Stuff, Judy!

I could use a glass like that! When I drop a glass on my tile floor it breaks into a million pieces and it's a mess to clean up.

Looks like that should be a big seller.

We received springs like the ones on that bed for my daughter's crib. It was very nice for a newborn. Love the cake jewelry. Want the door knob. Need a set of those glasses. About the belt -- did you hear that bathroom scales are now available up to 1000 pounds! My mother's greatest fear was that she would live to be 100. Congratulations to your daughter's 4.0!!!!

Love the door knob!
And the glass is so very good. My hands are arthritic, and i always have to keep my little finger beneath the glass to keep from dropping it.

You seem to find so many unique items to post. Just how do you do it?

I would have to browse for hours just to find one thing.

Good job.

Hi Judy

I made a comment earlier about that wonderful glass. That was me and not my son Steve.

This time I'll click on "Choose an Identity.

Should work!

For some reason the hand plays into my childhood fears of the boogie man or the horror movie I saw when I was young called The Hand.

Fun stuff as always!

But how would left-handed people open that door?

Congratulations to your daughter! You myst be so proud!

Loved some of these. The drop proof glass is great. I nealry dropped my glass yesterday as it was a hot day and the condensation from the cold drink made it very slippy! Where do you find these things? :)

I hate squeaky beds. In fact, I am getting the WD40 and trying to locate a squeak on ours.

Great pics - and congrats to your daughter!

Judy i am surprised to have you using such explicit language as 'butter cream icing balls'!

That hand looks good but I'm not sure i would want to be goosed every time I walked past.

Congratulations to your daughter!
(And the belt is probably centimeters: 95cm is about 37 inches).

I've never seen them till now... thanks for the treat!

Hey, I WANT that doorknob and I'd polish it every week, I swear. That is WAY cool. I also love the glass ... I think they ought to make all 'kid' glasses that way. haha

Is the waist in metric?
