You are what you eat, so eat well. A stupendous insight of civilizations past has now been confirmed by today's investigative, nutritional sciences. They have shown that what was once called "The Doctrine of Signatures" was astoundingly correct. It now contends that every whole food has a pattern that resembles a body organ or physiological function and that this pattern acts as a signal or sign as to the benefit the food provides the eater. Here is just a short list of examples of Whole Food Signatures.
A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye...and YES science now shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.
A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart is red and has four chambers. All of the research shows tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.
Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.
A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats 1 avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the motility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.

Grapefruits, Oranges , and Other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts. (I read recently in a magazine that women who have breast cancer should not eat grapefruit because it stimulates the production of a hormone that is not good to have if you have or have had cancer.)
Onions look like body cells. Today's research shows that onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes.
What do you think?

Very interesting. But, I say, don't eat grapefruits because they are nasty! LOL.
It sounds good to me!
The walnut is especially right on. A few sound like a stretch, but many others seem plausible and the world is strange enough (that we are even here) that I believe the connections.
Makes me wonder about junk food, a twinkie or a snowball.
But evil twin's wife: I LOVE grapefruit, but I can't eat them because I am on cholesterol meds, and they would interfere with my meds. Boo hoo.
That is interesting. Sounds like there's something to it.
Anything that will get people to eat more of these foods and less of junk food...let's embrace it. Except for avocado. I can't force myself to eat that...
I got that email too. While I don't by all of it I think there might be something to most of it.
Frankly I prefer my grapes squished, fermented and drinkable! ;)
Hi Kenju! Wow! That's a most creative way of looking at the foods we take. Applaud! Thank you for the great post.
That is interesting. Like evil twin's wife I don't each grapefruits but not because they are nasty but with the blood pressure I take it could cause a reaction.
That's not fair! I love grapefruit!
I think I need to improve my diet. Stat!
A lot of them are true (down to celery at least) but there are a few I've never heard of. Either way, like someone else said, it's still better than eating junk!
I'm sending this on to my junk-food-eating friends.
My mother used to enjoy quoting the German scientist who said that human babies should not be given cows milk because they would take on the 'brutish nature of the cow.'
fasinating......do you think we can get all this from our daily vitamin? It is a lot easier to take.
This is familiar idea to me from oriental traditional medicine, and perhaps from other traditions as well. Oriental tradition assigns each food a 'hot' or 'cold' rating, too. I don't remember what they all are, but I do remember that all fruits are cold (as are most sweet things), hence the saying that fruit is gold in the morning, silver in the afternoon, and lead at night. (i.e. you should eat it in the morning, because cold foods should not be eaten at night.)
Another one for the list is lotus root, which looks like lungs and is supposed to be good for the lungs (according to Oriental medical thinking). I have no idea whether it is true or not, though.
I can't help but notice you left out cucumbers!
This is great, interesting post. I have a book called "Healing With Whole Foods", it's my go-to manual when I'm not feeling well. I was a bit skeptical at first but it really works.
I think you have found another interesting email! :)
Hi Judy. I'm new at this, but I guess I've been initiated into the world of meme. And I am tagging you. You seem to be a very busy lady. If you have the time and are so inclined, check out my blog and learn about this one - an easy, fun one I think. I am about to add your name to my list.
This is MOST Interesting Judy...! And I tend to believe quite a bit if it.
I wonder where "garlic" sits in this spectrum? Because I have Always heard that Garlic is a perfect food for warding off colds, flu's, etc....I know it is a Wonderful food....!
For some reason, my twisted mind is now wondering about other foods and their resemblance to sexual body parts. What is wrong with me?????
I love the thought that food and such are connected visually to our body.....God has a very good sense of decorum and humour.
You left out two of my favorites: chocolate and coffee! Surely the cocoa bean and the coffee bean mean something good, if not for the body, the spirit.
I think it's religious actually.
Sodium content in bones has been established at 2.5 per cent of the bone base.
See:THE SODIUM CONTENT OF BONE AND OTHER CALCIFIED MATERIAL
Makes me question the rest of the information.
