Quotes of Note & an Update

Kindness is loving people more than they deserve.
Joseph Joubert, moralist and essayist (1754-1824)

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.
Mohandas K.Gandhi (1869-1948)

By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he's wrong.
Charles Wadsworth

Mr. Kenju is getting better little by little. The doctors seem to have gotten his blood pressure under control, finally. He will be moved to the rehab hosp. Monday, where his therapy will become intensive. The therapists are encouraged by his progress thus far, so we are hoping for great things in a few days. His attitude could use a little adjustment (LOL) and we both could use a bit more patience with each other (as usual). His appetite has improved over that of last week, which usually signals that he feels better. We have, as my mother would say, a long, long row to hoe, but with the Grace of God and the support of friends and family, we shall succeed.

My thanks to all of you for your support and kind comments; they really do help and they mean the world to me.

Judy, We are all gonna keep pulling for him even though the immediate danger seems to be gone. Do they know what caused the excessively high blood pressure in the first place? Other than medication what regimes do they have him on?

Oh, and of course, I could and should have come myself, but in this instance, Michele sent me.

May things go well in rehab. Take care of yourself too, times like this can be stressful to both of you.

I recall Ed's 'attitude' changing drastically (for the worst) just after his heart attack four years ago and again just after his stroke in September. Amazing. All I did was be there for him, "yes dear" him to tears and then open the swearing and crying floodgates while driving myself all the way home from each hospital visit. Took awhile for the mood swing to right itself again - and in some small cases, there are still signs of wear and tear. Good luck with regard to that. It's very trying.

I echo the sentiment posted up thread: Remember to take of YOURSELF

Wishing you and Mr K all the best.

Just checking in to see how Mr. K is doing...It sounds like there was some damage involved, Judy..I mean intensive therapy in rehab...I pray that he gets that attitude adjustment that is needed...lol!
Hope you are taking good care of you, too...Get some R&R if you can...Difficult under the circumstances, I know....But needed, too...! ((((HUGS TO YOU))))

It's good to read some good news regarding your hubby. I'm sure this whole ordeal has been stressful for you both.
I hope his recovery and therapy goes well and more quickly than you expect.

Hang in there, Mr. Kenju!!!!
My advice is that you have two chocolate truffles a day. They are good for ANY ailment.
God bless you and Judy.

Judy, the truffles will do you lots of good too. :-)

I'm glad that he's going to be okay!

Be SURE to let us know if you need anything, ok? You know where to find me.

Oh Judy I have been gone for a few days and only saw the first alert. I do understand about all that you said. I had my wake up call about 10 years ago and again last September. Rehab is hard work but there will be results and the two of you as a team can have a good outcome. Meds are a pain to take but in the end they do their work. You are both in my prayers

Hi Judy -- good to see you stopping by Michele's --- it means that things are calm enough for you to take a few minutes for yourself: we don't want you to forget to do a little of that in the coming days, weeks, months and years:-)
Michele sent me, of course, to tell you this. See how wise she is?

I came back for those first two quotes.. .great. I've added them to my collection.

The last quote... I think is one of those quotes parents like to drag out to comfort themselves on a job well-done. I'm guessing it's accurate as often as not. :)
