The Litle Girl and Her Dog

First, an update: there is not much to report; mr. kenju must stay in the hospital until there is a bed available in the rehab hospital (in the same building he is in now). He will have to be there from one to three weeks, depending on how well he does in therapy.
P.S. Thank you to all who have wished us well and/or are praying for us. I am so grateful for your support.

A little girl asked her mom, "Mom, may I take the dog for a walk around the block?"

Her mom replies, "No, because she is in heat."

"What's that mean?" asked the child.

"Go ask your father. I think he's in the garage."

The little girl goes to the garage and says, "Dad, may I take Belle for a walk around the block? I asked Mom, but she said the dog was in heat, and to come to you." Dad said, "Bring Belle over here." He took a rag, soaked it with gasoline, and scrubbed the dog's backside with it to disguise the scent, and said, "OK, you can go now, but keep Belle on the leash and only go one time around the block."

The little girl left and returned a few minutes later with no dog on the leash.

Surprised, Dad asked, "Where's Belle?"

(YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THIS!)

The little girl said, "She ran out of gas about halfway down the block, so another dog is pushing her home."

Do let us know when he is out of the danger zone so that we can uncross our fingers, toes and noses.
We are still holding on for you...

Still praying for you both, Judy.

Leave it to you to find humor at a time like this. I wish I could be more like you.

Have the medical people said what caused it in the first place (other than Mr K's refusal to go to a doctor)?

Judy, I'm so sorry to hear about your husband but glad to hear that you were in my area today. I"m sure the floral arrangements were outstanding. We will have to plan to meet for coffee one day when you are in Pinehurst. If you get a chance check out my friend blog that he just began

Try not to run yourself into the ground. Your health is even more important now. He's in good hands I'm sure. All will be well.

Surely hope Mr. Kenju is continuing to do well and will be able to transfer into rehab soon. As I read your previous post I know you realize just how fortunate he is to have avoided a potentially life changing medical event like a stroke. Please know my thoughts are with you both, wishing for his full recovery -- patience to you both, and you take care of yourself, Judy!

Loved this story. Reminded me of one about my brother when he was little that my Mom used to tell. It was a snowy bitterly cold freezing winter day, and he came rushing in from school to tell her just how cold it was. He had seen two little dogs actually frozen together.

Oh Judy I am so glad you guys have caught this blood pressure thing before something catastrophic happened.

I know a couple that will soon be beginning a regular walking for exercise regimen.....YOU TWO! If you do it with him, he will stick with it.

Loved the joke and hope your husband is feeling better. I know you are very stressed now and I just want you to know you are in my thoughts.

Yet again, I read too quickly, it didn't fully absorb. Now I get it. He'll be going to rehab for a short stay to get him on the right track with meds and rest, etc. Okay ... Good lord ... perhaps my mind going this way is my own wake up call.
