Quotes of Note ~ and a Guest

Guess who came for breakfast recently? The pickings were slim around here. Nothing is growing because we have had so little rain this summer, and even the leaves of the violets have been eaten by the deer that roam so freely in our woods.

The only tyrant I accept in this world is the 'still small voice' within me.

What a cute visitor!!! We are hoping for rain this week, kenju, I hope it comes our way too.
I know so many pansophists but didn't know what to call them! Until now and thanks to you.
Michele sent me this time, but you know I would have found my way anyways!

We often have rabbits in our backyard as well as the deer (recently a doe and fawn have been hanging around a lot). The other morning there were seven wild turkeys (not the bottled variety)! it's great living on the edge of town.

Somehow the rabbit doesn't seem real to me in that picture. Has she/he been posing for yard art?

Poor bunny! DId you see the forecast for this week? Ugh! High 90s and no rain. :-(

Not so sure about the Rochefoucauld quote --- I like to think that I would not commit high crimes, but there are certainly some people around who seem to be guilty as sin of committing them left right and centre....

We are getting forecasts for a little rain this week here further south -- but only a little, and the temperatures are forecast to be 98 for the next 4-5 days straight.
Ugh.

Poor hungry bunny! At the zoo the new big cat outdoor enclosures just opened after 8 months of construction. The new landscaping was in place and glorious for about a week, awaiting a press release day when all the cats were let out for the first time. In that week dozens of bunnies could be seen in the leopard and puma exhibits, happily chomping they new plantings. They moved out quickly the day they opened the doors to the cats!

I like the word for today, too. :-)

Oh, I love pansophist, that's great.

Judy, if you can think where you heard that or find reference to it, I'd love to read about the original intention behind the give/receive adage I talked about today. It would be fascinating.

What a cute bunny! I love all the stuff in your kitchen from your mother's kitchen. Wonderful. I have some of those things, but I've bought them because they remind me of my mother's kitchen, not that they were actually there.

Leaving for home tomorrow. These days with Ella have been super.

Your bunny looks a lot like the fella that lives under my shed, Judy. Maybe they're related! ;-)
