Tribute

Don Herbert gave me and countless thousands of children hours and hours of pleasure. His programs were educational, but we didn't realize we were learning because he presented everything in such interesting ways. He made science magic! Several years ago, I discovered that his old TV programs were being shown again. I devoured them, just as I had when I was young. The Wizard is dead. Love live The Wizard!

I think he was on Saturday mornings. We always watched and loved his experiments.

I think I liked his voice the best - kinda sucked you in, it did.

Yay for science and those who make is accessible!

I am older than you are, so I assume I don't know of this wonderful man because it happened after I was an adult. What a wonderful way for kids to learn science. I took my kids in summer for courses at the L.A. Museum of Science and Industry. These science classes are very popular in many places these days.

Not having grown up in the US I didn't even know who he was... It sounds like he was much loved though.

I never did answer your question about my conference. They do have a website at www.ieata.org. There is probably still information on the conference.

The Wiz got me interested in science which led me to my time the the Navy Nuclear Program. I wouldn't trade those years for anything.

I've never heard of him or his show.
I feel like I really missed out!!!!
Hopefully, I will catch a rerun of it sometime so I can be kind of in the know about him.

Off topic: there's peppers and there's peppers, Judy. This one is of the non-food group type.

There are black garlands up in the neighborhood. First Mr. Rogers, now Mr. Wizard. Children (and those of us who were once children) have lost another friend.
