Wedding Flowers ~ May 8, 2010

There were precious few opportunities to take photos on Saturday, considering that we drove at least 125 miles, back and forth from the shop to the rehearsal dinner site, the church and the reception site (which is about 30 miles from the shop.)

Two baskets of hydrangeas hang back to back on the wrought-iron gate leading into the reception dinner.

One of the nineteen table centerpieces.

Looking into the tented reception area.

Another centerpiece.

This is one of two door wreaths I made. They were used on the church doors and transferred to the reception.
Two other hydrangea wreaths (smaller) were used on the mother's pews and then transferred to the bride and groom's chairs.

These cones, made of aspidistra leaves, held a single hydrangea blossom. There were used on the pews at the church and then transferred to the porch railings. There were 18 of them here and another 12 used on the railings at the church entrance.

There are eight of these lamp posts. Mel placed the garland and studded it with roses in five different colors.

We started by going to the rehearsal diner site to get the flowers from the night before so we could take them to the reception site later. After going to the reception area (30 miles north of the shop) three times, and the church twice.....we were tired, as you can imagine. Traffic was horrendous all day today and we had to travel on one of the most congested roads in and out of the Raleigh area. So we spent a lot of time in the car, but when we got to our destination, it was hurry, hurry and get it done quickly. The 87* heat didn't help either. But I'm not complaining, mind you, I love every minute of it, and I'm grateful for the opportunity!

Have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Everything looks so beautiful there - especially the wreaths. And the view of the reception area, I can imagine it full of beautiful people eating and drinking, toasting the bride and groom. I hope the food matched the excellence of the flowers!

Judy, you always do such a wonderful job for the Bride and Groom's wedding and reception.

It's no wonder you are always busy. Every bride you make flowers for must recommend you and Mel..

Why not?
