It's New (Again)

Some of you have mentioned the new header and the photo, and now you see I have replaced it. I think you can expect that to happen frequently, now that I know how to do it. The new pic was taken on the horse farm I talked about last week. I cannot imagine a more bucolic or serene place, and I wish I could go there every week to unwind from the cares of daily life. Surely it would be easy in such a place.

The flower shop was a hot bed of activity today; Mother's Day arrangements, corsages and boutonnnieres for a Father-Daughter Dance and for First Communion, and additional everyday stuff to do. The phone rang constantly and the wire-service fax machine worked overtime, as children and husbands sought to honor their mothers/wives. One man ordered flowers to be sent to his adult daughters, wishing them a happy Mother's Day. I thought that was a lovely gesture. Someone asked this week if my family members send me flowers. No, at my request they don't. It would be like carrying coals to Newcastle (as we say) and I would spend at least ten minutes critiquing the arrangement anyway.....LOL. I don't expect anything but a card for Mother's Day, but had they asked, I would be inclined to want a gift card to be used for spa services like facials and massages. If I were being very practical, I'd ask for $$$ to pay off my gasoline bill! Two of my children (and all the grandchildren) will be here on Sunday to visit, and they are bringing food, which is an idea I welcome after I worked so hard this week. Tomorrow will be spent doing nothing I don't want to do, and I hope I can spend some time in a hot tub and pool, just relaxing. I might even get the time to visit all of you!

My wish for you, Judy, is that you are the center of attention this weekend while every generation under your roof caters to your every need. Since you do so much for others, you deserve no less than to have one day where it's all about you.

Dropped by from Michele's to let you know there's a Happy Mother's Day wish from me to you going out this Sunday.

Happy Mother's Day Judy. I don't know how much rest you will get with all the kids and grandkids there, but I know you will enjoy it.

Why is the word bucolic so ugly when it describes pastoral beauty? The photo is so peaceful and inviting. Judy I hope your children read the post and get ideas for little prezzies:) Boys, I find, lack imagination, in that department.

That is a great photo. I want to learn how to use my own images as a header.

Hope you have a grand and glorious and RESTFUL Mother's Day.

That farm scene looks like so many of them here in the Sandhills area, Judy. They sure are restful and very beautiful but the upkeep must be beyond imagining. I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend away from flowers, for a change !!

Judy,

Somebody said it takes six weeks to get back to normal after having a baby..
That somebody doesn't know that once your a mother, normal is History.

Somebody said being a mother is boring..
That somebody never rode in a car with a teenager with a driver's permit.

Somebody said good mothers never raise their voice..
That somebody never came out the back door just in time to see her child hit a golf ball through her neighbor's kitchen window.

Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery..
That somebody never watched her baby get on the bus for the first day of kindergarden...

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.........

I hope your entire Mother's Day weekend is one of relaxation and the joy of family.
I asked my hubby to cook for me. He makes a delicious sausage & angel hair pasta dish that is really tasty. The kids can take care of the dishes, and I can relax while they do the work I usually do.
I kind of thought that your kids and hubby probably didn't give you flowers on special occasions. I can fully understand why!
Enjoy YOUR day!!
You deserve some pampering.

I don't work with flowers, but I also request no floral arrangements. I feel bad that they don't live long after they're cut... Happy Mother's Day! It sounds wonderful.

I love the new photo.
I've riding again lately, and I love just being in the field with those creatures. I'd love to have that view from my bedroom window.
