Mr. Kenju's Latest Nickname

Every now and then (and more often lately) mr. kenju gets all flustered and highly indignant about something and in order to prove his point, he draws himself up to his full height, takes a deep breath (to puff up his chest) and blows off steam just like Phineas T. Bluster used to do. So I call him Phineas. It just happened again, and I laughed so hard I diffused his momentary anger. What is it with men, anyway? God forbid you should question their opinions. I could often say of him..."Don't confuse me with the facts, Ma'am, my mind is already made up." He says it of me as well. I suppose it is yet another example of the Venus ~ Mars thing.

That's a great name, lol! When mine wants to prove a point, he just looks at me like I'm an idiot.

Judy,

I like the way you diffuse anger; I do that too.

You have to do something to settle the situation down.

A few weeks ago I had a huge bowl of spaghetti sauce in the front of the frig. I told Roy NOT to touch it, so naturally, he opened the frig and while taking it out he dropped the bowl, which broke and sent the sauce all over the floor.

I was furious and we both began mopping it up. What a mess. He was trying to apologize and I wasn't in the mood for forgivness but then, I came to my senses and felt I had to diffuse all the anger in the room so I looked at him and scratched the top of my head and said "A fine mess you got us in "

We both laughed and it was over. We finished cleaning up, and because dinner was now in the trash, he took me to Outback for a steak......Thanks, Laurel and Hardy...

I have this image of Mr. Kenju as a lovable grouch, kind of like Oscar from Sesame Street!

Phineas?

How about that cartoon rooster? "I say, I say, I say!"

I love the term "lovable grouch"!!! Doesn't that describe most men?

Nancy, that was a genius moment you had!

It's when I laugh at my husband that he turns into a Phineas. Which makes it more fun to do, of course!

Though I long for a companion in an idealistic way, I also am sometimes glad I don't have to compromise with a man anymore. I did just call my son-in-law to come help me open up my dining table to put the leafs in; men do have more strength than most women. That's in their favor. Sounds like he is continuing to heal--and is feisty to boot.

That nickname suits Mr Mar too, lol!!

I remember one time getting mad like that and sucked in a bunch of air and suddenly I was the laughing stock of the other 3 members of the family. It sure changed the subject.

"Phineas" - love it!

You're lucky you have a de-fusable husband. Pretty clever, Judy.

The Evil Twin loves to use words like "always" or "never" and we have a great time with those. One of us will take the moment and just keep going until it's so over the top ridiculous, we just laugh.

When I can't laugh, I have the funeral fantasy - i.e. him laying in a coffin and then, "What am I gonna do with that insurance money? Paaarrrttyyyy!" Then I feel bad and can forgive him. LOL.

I love the name too. I think I am now living with a Phineus of my own, particulary when it comes to politics.

Many women are as patient as the grand canyon...that is why there are still men left in this world.

But of course, 9 times out of 10, WE wives are right.
Our hubbies just have a hard time accepting that.
Phineas will just have to get used to his nickname, because it fits him perfectly.
