Happy Mother's Day

My adoptive mom at age 16.

And at age 45. I think her hairstyle made her look older here. I remember the lacquer she used to get her hair to stand up and wave like that.  It might as well have been glue - that's what it felt like. I remember that suit; she also had a hat made to match it.
I have posted photos of my birth mother on my blog, but I don't have time to search for them now. I really look a lot like she did in her 60's and 70's, but my younger daughter is her spitting image when she was 17, the year I was born.

Your adoptive mom was a very fashionable lady. The hair is classic.

She looks like she had a warm heart. :)

I think in the past people in their 40's did look older than they do nowadays don't you? Clothing and hair etc.

What a sweet faced 16 year old. They look so young in their old pictures. Happy Mom's to you Judy.

I remember those classic hair styles - permed, sprayed and not a hair dare get out of place!

Now the young things spend hours straightening their hair. We are never satisfied, are we!

Now that took work and product but was worth the effort. Such a lovely lady. I know she is your adoptive mom but I see a resemblence between you.
Have a great Mother's Day Judy.

Judy,
I love the hair and how it waves...I'm certain it DID have plenty of 'glue' on it!
Thanks so much for sharing...

Thank you for sharing the photos. Since I too have an adopted daughter, I loved your tribute. I too, have a photo of my mom on my Mother's Day post.

Great photos. Years ago we spent endless time to to achieve the 'not a hair out of place' look. Nowadays the young women spend hours to look like they have been pulled through a hedge backwards! ;)

Happy Mother's Day!

Lovely AM. You are also a lovely mom and grandmom and I wish you the happiest of Mother's Days. Will you start relaxing today or tomorrow?

I wonder if her wave was natural or a perm? :-)

Such different looks, lovely both ways. I love old portraits.
