Rain, Rain, Stay a While and other Odds and Ends

Today is the first time we have had much rain to speak of for weeks. We are in a deep deficit for the past year and it will take a long time to bring it back to normal, if ever. I need to grocery shop, but I am putting it off until tomorrow, when I have to go out for a dental cleaning anyway.

Picasa has a glitch of some sort; it won't let me post photos to the blog. A friend emailed me with the same problem, so I know it isn't just me.  It's a pity, since I have many pix to show you from yesterday's wedding at The Grand Marquise and also some from our most recent trip to A Southern Season in Chapel Hill. I hope the problem will be cured soon. Since mr. kenju's computer got fried by a virus, I am "dead in the water" when it comes to photos. You'll just have to deal with having nothing pretty to look at for a while.

When I went to work yesterday, one of Mel's cats was ill. We both worried about her all day, but as of last night she had perked up and was no longer barfing and other unmentionable things. That's a relief. A few years back she had a big hairball that required surgery to remove, and it was very costly. It's nice to know that won't be necessary now.

UNC beat the pants off Duke last night and that always makes my immediate family happy. I really enjoyed that game; especially since they beat UNC in the other game this season. I have a cousin who is married to a man who went to Duke, and they go to as many games as they can during the year (meaning all of the ones at home.) I suspect they were sort of glad they weren't at UNC last night.

I love the rain, hope you get a nice sprinkling. We are suppose to get snow today & tomorrow :(

Glad Mel's cat showed signs of getting better. I hate it when my boys get sick & I don't know why. Animals can't tell us what is wrong, we just have to do our best with them.

I don't need the pics, I like reading what you have to say :)

Football is the big thing in our household. Pro & college. We have been watching the combine, a few boys from CU are in it. They have done real good. One of our big highlights these year, was that Mason Crosby, who came from CU got his first super bowl ring this year. We like seeing our boys do good :)

take care

I hope your rain is beneficial. We are short in the water department here too. Dry winter and we are usually hot and dry during the summer.

The only football games I pay regular attention to are with my alma mater too, UW, sigh.

I kind of like rainy days, too, and it's rained here most of the weekend, too. Love a rainy day.

I noticed a few days ago that I was no longer able to load pictures through Picasa, but I could find no 'known issues' on it. I wonder what they've done. Google has been going through a lot of problems and I figured it was all related.

My two boys were ecstatic over the UNC win. Me? Not my thing and I was probably reading a book while they played !

At least no rain means no leak in the garage and back porch.

March is always an exciting month in North Carolina--with basketball and all!

Oh, I love days when it DOESN'T rain. Here in the Pacific Northwest it drizzles all winter long. Envy you in your dry winter space.

We also had quite a drought for many years. Although Southern California had SO MUCH RAIN this January that I think it really helped us considerably.

We have been getting quite wet also which is great as last year was scary bone dry.
Glad your team won. Know the competition is fierce there.

We've had rain all day... looks like one more batch coming through and then cooler. Daisy doesn't like the heat and I am afraid her congestive heart failure is de-compensating.

We just knew that the two feet of snow we had would soak into the ground and create a muddy mess. Instead it barely softened the ground. We have even received a couple of thunderstorms since and still the ground is solid. We must be very dry.

I still load my blog photos from my documents and pictures folders and so far no problems.

There is not a sports fan bone in my body. However I know my brother would have been cheering on his Alma mater Duke.

I hope you get more rain!

Computer woes really mess things up. We just got home to Arkansas yesterday and got our internet turned back on this morning. Being without reliable internet for so long made me really appreciate it now.
