Searching through the web-site of a new branch of an antiques store here in this area, I stumbled onto this photo of some Limoges cups and saucers. I have been trying to find out the name of this pattern for many years, since it is the same one I inherited from my mother. I am not sure if it came through her mother's family or if my mom bought it somewhere. She was quite the bargain hunter and haunted antique and junk shops, as well as yard sales, in WV and Ohio.

I don't have a full set of it; just some luncheon plates, bread and butter plates, a serving bowl and cups and saucers. I have always thought it would be nice to augment my set if any became available. So I sent off a question to the consignee, asking how many pieces she had and the cost of the set. Suffice it to say that the asking price for her 57 pieces nearly knocked my socks off. Perhaps I should be asking her if she'd like to buy mine for the same amount? LOL

Okay, now it is official - I HATE this template. I cannot put text where I want it to go and as soon as I have time to play around with the design, I'll be changing! I have no idea how this box got here, or how this text ended up here. It doesn't make sense! ARRRGH!

I noticed something in blogger the other day that really has helped my layout problems. Go to settings (in your Dashboard), then to Basic, then scroll down to Global settings, then Select post editor. Click on the Updated Editor (recommended) and save.
It's made my life a whole lot easier!
Be happy with what you have - it looks delightful. I have to drink tea out of a china cup or it doesn't taste right.

Gosh, you mean those barrels of Limoges china that we toted around all those years were worth something?
Sadly, when my mother died, it was her family's china, the barrels whittled down to a small box, stashed---somewhere.Some people(me) don't deserve nice things.

I have to admit that I prefer a plainer cup. Nowadays I mostly use china beakers. I like a proper big cup of coffee.
Beautiful China Judy. It's funny how very seldom I've used the china I got for my wedding. I only have four or six settings; but I really never used them much.

There is a huge place to your west (I think in Burlington) that specializes in old china. Replacements Ltd, maybe? I have gotten replacement parts from them (but they were being paid for by the shipper who had broken some).
I found when I tweaked blogger to customize fonts it got snooty and only pasted fonts wherever it wanted...not where I wanted. It is a process, be patient.

Gorgeous china! Too bad the shop's price is so high. If you can find out the name of the pattern, search for it on Ebay from time to time. You might get lucky with someone auctioning off their mother's cups and saucers. Dealers' prices tend to be higher. I have had really great luck finding pieces of both my silver and china patterns, some fairly old, on Ebay.
I love that pattern, too, Judy, but maybe you should sell your pieces.
And, that reminds me, I only use my own china these days on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I didn't register for china either when I married 100 years ago, but bought my current set after I was separated in 1984. I wanted something foo-foo instead of practical.
