Odds and Ends

More Halloween decor...

I made this pumpkin out of poster board back in the late 70's, and we have been using it ever since. It hangs beside my front door.

Next, a photo of Canada geese in S*m's Club parking lot. This was just a small part of the gathering. There were at least 60 of them that day.

My food  Friday night at Cafe Capistrano.....yum!

Have you ever slept the whole day away? I did that on Saturday. I got up at 7am, got on the computer until about 8:30, ate breakfast and settled in to read  the 2nd book in the Swedish crime series  (The Girl Who Played With Fire.) Fell asleep for two hours, got up and ate lunch, read some more - fell back to sleep about 1:15 and slept until 4:30!  I'm not sick, so I can't understand why I slept so much, unless I am making up for lost sleep last week.

I redeemed myself by making a pot of chicken and rice soup for dinner. It turned out well and I know it will be even better tomorrow!

P.S.  I slept another 3 hours in my chair Saturday night . I wonder how long it will take me to get sleepy again?

That sounds like a good day to me. Your soup sounds wonderful.

If I do that (sleep on and off) I get totally off a good sleep schedule. That Swedish series put me to sleep at the first book...so not reading the rest.

That will do you a world of good

Oh man, I could sleep all day today. Totally. :-)

I like Canada geese. I know they're stupid and messy and bad-tempered, but they waddle so adorably.

Think your battery had just run down and needed recharged. I never question sleep, feel I have earned it and just enjoy it.
You should too.

I can't seem to get inspried to drag out a single autumn decoration--letting nature do that this year.
I have not been napping, but I have been getting up quite late these cool mornings. It's dark, more; why not sleep more?

Perfect day for the approaching fall. Some days you just have to catch up. Your 70's door pumpkin has inspired me to use up some of my odds and ends and make something for my door.

The only time I can sleep all day, is on a plane, but that's because there is nothing else to do!

That looks like a luscious dinner, Judy.

I thought that as people age, they need less sleep. That's sure not the case with me!

Take care - have a good week.

I've been extraordinarily weary lately too... If I was left to it's I'd stay in bed all day! I'm blaming the change in seasons!!

I'm glad you're enjoying the geese we sent you for the winter :)

You have such a neat way of viewing your world, Judy. You inspire me to do the same whenever I head out.
