September 20

HOW on earth did it get to be September 20th already?  The year has gone by so fast that I could almost swear it's only May - except for the intense heat of a thousand suns we experienced this summer (for far too long.) Before we know it, it will be Christmas again.

Another whole day spent in the garage, and walking up and down and up and down the stairs to search for more stuff to sell on Saturday. People aren't going to be able to see all of it anyway. I'd need a six car garage for that. I've already forgotten where I put a third of it, and I still have three rooms to go through, plus clothing, plus the attic,  oh,  scratch the attic - I"ll never have time to go up there and search.)  I should go under the house and look too. As I recall I have several planters and a wrought-iron plant stand there. There simply are not enough hours in the day!

This post has to be short. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to stay awake much longer. As soon as I get everything into the garage that I want to sell, I'm going to take photos of it all. You won't believe it - and you especially won't believe it when you know that I did this five years ago and had just as much stuff then. Holy cow.

It's scary how much stuff we collect along the way, even in 5 years! and things that you might have kept then are now probably out in your garage.

I am fighting the 'hoarding' instinct like mad, and have now pretty much got to the point that most of it belongs to Mr H. so I can't sell it, more's the pity ;-)

Its amazing how stuff seems to gather in our unused places, isn't it??

The only answer is to shut the door. Tight!

Good luck for Saturday, anyway. Hope you sell it all!

Oh my, I thought this was from a lifetime of accumulation, not just five years. Maybe you ought to consider it as an annual event.
Can't wait to see the pictures. If I lived closer, I'd try to make the sale.
Have fun.

How do we accumulate so much stuff, Judy....I swear it is like it all multiply's all by itself, too....!
Much Good Luck with the sale, my dear.

Remember your pelvic floor and don't go lifting things.
Currently - with the recent excitement - mine is about knee level, adjacent to my bosom:)

I thought we had this all covered when I moved here and then we moved mom and dad over to this house... but... no... still more stuff.

There's nothing like a garage sale to show you how out of control you can get when it comes to buying stuff you'll never use !!!
Good luck with the sale.

A little cartoon called Veggie Tales has a telling segment about "Stuff Mart," and a woman who lives in a tree house until it falls over from all her stuff. Pretty funny, not so much in real life. All I can say is "Good for you for doing this." We all accumulate stuff and you are doing the right thing.

I'm already thinking about Christmas. I do goes faster as we get older but I also think the universe is speeding up. I read that it was.
