Wedding Flowers 5-22-10

My employer, Mel Day of Dogwood Tree Floral, had two weddings today. He made all the tall arrangements, and I made the smaller ones.

Sorbonne lilies, vanda orchids, roses, hypericum berries, freesia, lisianthus, sweet peas, hydrangea.

Bride's bouquet (Mel made this.)

Bridesmaid's bouquets (Mel made these.)

The parents of the groom. She is wearing a cymbidium orchid and he sports two dendrobium florets.

The interior of All Saint's Chapel; formerly on the grounds of an Episcopal Church here in Raleigh. When the church started a building project, they sold this chapel and it was moved to another location near here.

They are all beautiful arrangements! I take it everyone is very well behaved and those very tall arrangements in the middle of the tables stay upright?? ;)

I read in the paper yesterday how many wedding in the UK are going "over the top" with expense, with everything having to be "just so" including flowers, so I'm thinking I am a bit behind the times and like a lot of things, the USA has exported beautiful wedding arrangements (can't think of a better word) across the ocean! (I have to say the journalist was rather disapproving of such expense for just one day!)

Great work as usual. You and Mel work so well together. I really liked the interior of that church.

Your obedient servant has returned. Thank you for the link. That is a lovely chapel. The stained glass window is awesome and I liked the picture with the fish bowl effect.
Thanks Judy.

That church reminded me of many here in Northern Ireland. I loved the simple setting for the reception meal, it showed the flowers off to great advantage.

Thanks for the comment. I miss my mom too; she died three years ago at age 90.
