Lovely shot. I really like black and white photos. They show more detail.
That was something about the tunnel disaster. Thank God for OSHA today.

The water level was low when your mother took the photo. I wonder if that was a drought year.

Nice photo, there was a lot of silting in the rivr back then! But then, there was less control on dumping the waste rock from mining.
