Extras from a Wedding + Don't MIss This

The wedding at The Matthew's House last Saturday used lovely wooden frames for the table numbers. They looked like bamboo. Each table had a name; this one was Amore (love in Italian).

These very sweet favors were Jordan almonds in tiny bird nests; tied with green and brown ribbon (to match the color scheme).

This was the sign on the table where the "Wishing tree" sat - so people would know what to do. Click to enlarge (I hope).

The way that guests found at which table they were to sit was a burlap covered board, sitting on a very nice wooden easel. They followed the color scheme with the colors of the cards.

The ceremony was outdoors. In the area around a wonderful old tree, they grew green hydrangeas...

Varigated lirope and peonies (not in season).....

That tree was so big around that I estimate it has to be at least 500 years old. I couldn't begin to reach around it - and I have long arms!

The ivy is overtaking it fast. I hope they don't let it grow too far up the branches. From this angle, the photo looks upwards from about six feet off the ground.

Don't miss this!

I keep forgetting to tell you....I saw the best license plate last week:

Another very original design. It must be whole different ball game when you are not such hostage to the weather as we are.

I love with wishing tree idea. I've never seen that. The little bird nests were just too cute!

Good grief, it took me entirely too long to figure out the license plate but I finally got it. This old age stuff is killer.
I almost wrecked once following a car for miles trying to figure out
2BZE2P.
Loved the little birdnests.

Those are adorable little favors.... I love jordan almonds... Yesterday was wonderful.. weatherwise here. Cool, a breeze and a great hot tub experience last night. Hope today is similar! Is it cooler there too?

I like the wishing tree idea. We seldom write these days, so it is a real part of history for the future.

Great license plate.

I just drifted over from Arkansas Patti. I'm not a spammer.

Enjoyed the wedding photos and charmed by the tree. During the 1000 yr ice storm in N. AR. in February we lost a lovely red oak that I could not reach around with my short arms. I quit counting rings at 90 as they were so close together.

I have sister-in-law in Aberdeen NC who follows me as a lurker.

I received a comment in an Oriental language not too long ago. I put through Google translater and it was similar to your "follower." Since my post subject was spiritual I took as an affront to me or a crude joke. Either way it was removed.

Have a nice day. NitWit1

That license plate is funny!

What a nice wedding that was. I love that huge, old tree. How neat that they had guests write their best wishes or words of wisdom to pass along to the new bride and groom.
I am craving jordon almonds now that I've seen those cute bird nest favors.

:-)
