Photo Leftovers +

My Babies!!! The fawns were resting comfortably (about 20 feet from the fence) on Monday morning, when I went out to check the pool. They were so calm that they even gave me time to walk back into the house and get the camera. I should know better than to walk outside without it. The parents were nowhere to be seen, but they know their babies are safe with me.

This is part of the buffet table for last Sunday's wedding. Doesn't it make you want to dive right in??

Maybe you'd rather dive in here? Recently, my daughter took her two nephews kayaking on the Potomac near Georgetown. The scenery belies the closeness to civilization, doesn't it?

Would you like to be on the water near the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial? They enjoyed it, but they said the water was dirty.

Remember the post I wrote about a good book I read recently? The author left a cute comment on that post last night.

Those fawns are just so cute! And so near you! I'm really envious!

And the kayaking and the river! You have so much space in the US!! (Ydes, I know cities are crowded, so are ours, but outside of them, wow!)

I'll pass on the water sports, but I would love to get close to the fawns.

Awesome pics of your babies, I see bit of Mr Kenju in the one on the right. They both have your eyes. I like my cruiser, once we get out on the sound and can start cranking it up, it is exhilarating. I have not had the time this summer to even call and have it put on the water and my lake boat needs some engine work that is being back logged. Don't look like I'm gonna get out this season. I got a solid production schedule on the weekends until mid November.

A lovely mix of shots. I went back to read the author's comment but missed it- I'll try again.

The fruit looks sooo good. I think it's fruit for breakfast this morning.

Being a kayaker, I was taken with the Potomac shots but was disappointed that the river was dirty. When will we learn?
What a thrill to have Mr. Ford acknowledge you and cleverly at that. It would have been easy to overlook the sly comment.

This is where blogging rewards come in. You are steadfast in creating great posts and building a good following. Then, to read/review a book and have a comment from the author is just too cool.

Your deer are growing fast!

We have Bambi babies too...twins and a single fawn. On the Water. Not for me. WOW....an author comment. I always knew you would make it to the big time one day, Judy.

I wasn't able to read the author's comment. Maybe I didn't open the right link.

The faun seems to be looking at you and wondering what that thing pointed at her/him is. Thank goodness it's a camera and not a gun.

The kayaking looks like fun. It's hard to believe they're so close to an urban area.

I have been to Washington many times, on business and pleasure. I never realized Theodore Roosevelt even had a memorial, until my daughter, who lived there from 2002 until last month, took us there in 2006. She had discovered the memorial while kayaking around the island. It's a wonderful memorial, and now ranks as one of my favorite spots in DC.

Oh those fawns....so adorable.

And yes, that buffet does make me want to jump right in. That fruit looks very inviting.

What a nice comment from the author of that book Judy....very cool.

I have sea lions in the harbor, skunk, raccoons, and possums, but no deer. My family in Washington sure has a lot of deer. I agree with the others about choices of photos all being interesting.
