Hallelujah!!

Until about 11:30pm, I was having problems all darn day with blogger and google. I couldn't get into my dashboard to write a new post, and I couldn't leave comments on blogger blogs. What's up with that?

My daughter came to the rescue by unplugging the modem for a minute. That did the trick! I didn't think of doing that earlier because I could access gmail and blogs and everything else google. If I had not been able to get on line at all, I would have unplugged the modem myself. I don't understand why that solved this problem, but I'm sure glad it did. It's still slow - but at least it works.

Did anyone see Grey Gardens on HBO last night? It stars Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore in an adaptation of the story (also on Broadway) about Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter, Little Edie; aunt and cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and her sister Lee Radziwill. It was a very interesting story, about which I had no prior knowledge and no preconceived notions. I am sure it will be repeated, so I recommend you watch this one - or rent the documentary. You'll be fascinated.

I read about it on this blog too, so go and check out her review of it. Jo said it better than I could.

Glad you are back in working order once more.

Grey Gardens sounds like a movie I would enjoy. I must watch out for it.

So glad you are back in business. Nothing can sharpen my profanity skills like a sick computer.

I missed Grey Gardens but will try the DVR trick, yet to be tested, of having it search and a record future showing. Hope it works. Thanks, always looking for "good" TV.

I can't wait to see this. I had big plans to watch it last night, but things got busy and I've had to put it on hold for another night. I love Jessica Lange, and can't wait to see her performance.

Will watch Gray Gardens when it is on again. Am watching a predator feature on the Discovery Science channel tonight as my son did the background music!

That is odd about your modem, Judy. I'd not have thought of that either since your connection to the web was intact--just spotty.

I just have Basic Cable and don't get the good stuff. I will see if I can get it on Netflix...it sounds like what I'd enjoy. Thanks.

PS, Judy. I checked Netflix and that version is not on DVD yet but I ordered the 1975 movie (also called Grey Gardens) and will let you know how it is.

Why pulling the plug works, who can say? But it often does There have been times when my whole computer just freezes up and I can't even shut it down normally, and I just have to push the power button. It does work. Even my TV, when it starts acting up, can be cured by pulling the plug for a while.

Who knows why computers act the way they do... I think it's just to torment us. LOL. If I happen to catch that show on, I'll definitely check it out. :-)

I saw your post title and thought, "Easter was last week!" :) Glad your computer is working; we don't get HBO here and I watch so little TV anyway, so I haven't seen Grey Garden.
