Do you know that old saying......"If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all." I have a co-worker about whom that could easily be said. I got a call today informing me that her nephew just returned from Iraq. I don't know his age, but I got the impression that he's fairly young. She had gotten a call saying that he had been hit by a car and he's brain dead. Can you believe it? He has a tour in Iraq, and comes home to get killed. It's so not fair and hard to understand.

It's unfortunate for her - but it results in some good luck for me - in that I get to work in her place this week and next, for my usual employer and her other part-time place, which I mentioned yesterday. She has to go out West and doesn't know when she'll return. The upshot of that is I'll be very busy and I may not be able to post anything of importance or interest - if at all.

The B.W.O. plaque in my sidebar has to come into play for a while - Blogging Without Obligation. I hope you'll bear with me until I can return to posting and commenting again.

I am so sorry to hear that about the young man. What a tragedy.

It reminds me of a family who were at a Great Strides Walk for CF. The little girl with CF was there and she read something that talked about people dying with CF. She asked her mother if that meant she was going to die. Her mother replied that they could get hit by a car just as well...and it is so, isn't it. One never knows what a day brings.

How dreadful for the young man and his family.

You enjoy working and take care, remember to find some rest time.

I wonder if his mind was stressed as he tried to return to society from war and got distracted. So very very sad.

There is no justice in that story. That poor woman. Beverly is right though, we just don't know what can take us. It is just chance.

If you must leave us for work, I guess we have no choice. Bet we will be here when you get back though. Ah---hurry. Enjoy and take neat pictures.

So sorry to hear about the tragedy that happened to the young soldier.

I know it will be difficult for that young man's family to make any sense out of it. They waited and worried about him while he was in Iraq and then to have this happen! Just tragic..

As far as you are concerned, Judy, please follow Grannymar's advice and take a little rest yourself once in a while. Promise!

I'm sorry to hear about the soldier's untimely death on the streets... Some people seem to be lightning rods for bad luck. I hope your friend find solace for her grief.

Stranger than fiction and sadder too.

I'd never heard of BWO, Blogging Without Obligation. Isn't it funny that we have to invoke that? It's like saying... please check back, but don't be upset if I haven't posted.
Hope you're enjoying whatever is keeping you busy busy. And I hope there are flower photos to show for it.

I am so sorry for your co-worker and her family. It is hard to understand the "why" at times like this.

I hope your time at work is fruitful and fun and that you get many ideas and pictures of your great work. I love all your arrangements...

I understand Judy....I'm having a hard time getting around to everybody, but for different reasons.

That is just so tragic that this young man goes through his tour in Iraq and then comes home to an accident that kills him! I do not understand anything anymore---maybe I never did in the first place.
