Points to Ponder + a Photo Meme

Since Carmi amended his "transparent" theme this week to included "translucent", I have this to share - a skylight I saw during my recent trip to The National Gallery in DC. I liked the pattern of the palm fronds against it , as well as the pattern of grids seen through the translucent panels. And now:

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Garden Rule: When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Have you noticed since everyone has a camcorder these days no one talks about seeing UFOs like they used to?

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, 'I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink whatever comes out?'

Who was the first person to say, 'See that chicken there? I'm gonna eat the next thing that comes outta its butt.'

If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a song about him?

Why does your OB-GYN leave the room when you get undressed if he's going to look up there anyway?

Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet Soup?

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

I know; most of them are old. I hope you laughed anyway.

Thank you for telling me about Hoss. I didn't know, but my thoughts were leaning that way. Do you know if there is an obituary somewhere? His last post was on my birthday.

Nice translucent photo.

Don't know where I have been but most were new to me. Such funny truisms. Just when I thought I had a favorite to comment on, the next one would displace it. Sooo, they were all great. Thanks for the laugh.

I live by the "never take life seriously" one - as you can tell! LOL.

Beautiful picture!

I love the first quote. I say all the time that I expect the preservatives I eat to keep me looking young and fresh. :-)

I did (laugh). the one about the acid/Prozac reminded me of a book by Tom Brokaw, called BOOM, about the 60's. He said something like, the same people who tuned in, turned on and dropped out are the ones in the aisle at Whole Foods reading lables to see what aditives are in the food.

Paul's comment brought me up with a startle. I was not aware of Hoss's departure.

I just posted photo and information so I guess I am number 51.

The OBGYN one was especially funny.

Loved the "Steven Wright" bit. Or at least it sounds like a bit he'd do anyway. I'd heard some of them before, but I laughed anyhow.

LOVE the photo from DC. I'm glad you posted it, 'cause theme or no theme that needed to be seen!
