Odds and Ends

A bit late......I should have posted this on Veteran's Day. Another group of doughboys from WW1; found in mr. kenju's family photos.

My sweet sonny boy, age 3.

There are three people reading this blog who will be surprised to see this! One of those men is the husband of a blogger and the father of a blogger. I won't say which one it is.....unless he gives me permission. This is yet another piece of ephemera I've kept over the years. This one dates from 1971 or 72.

This is how I feel now about ANYONE in politics!! I'm SO tired of it!

This is an arrangement I did a while back for a new baby boy. Among the flowers are a bottle, a rattle, a rubber ducky and a pacifier. It's easy to incorporate things that last into flower arrangements, which don't.

Hooray for the doughboys!

Was Sweet Sonny one of the Blues Brothers?

No guess on the blogger.

Yes Maxine, Oh YES!

Champion flower arrangement -- First Place for sure.

What a clever idea to add lasting things to a floral arrangement. Long after the flowers have died the permanent items are still enjoyed. It's a beautiful arrangement on it's own and also practical.

Great photos!!!!

Just a guess -- but is Mr. kenju in that photo?

I was looking for the rubber ducky in the arrangement as it looks just like a pond with reeds :)

Hi Judy :)

I love those old pictures you keep posting!

I could never live in that modern house you posted, but it's neat to look at.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Don't know whether you know it, but I spent the first 40 years of my life in the Raleigh area, and had to move away 2 years ago thanks to one of those big co. mergers & my husband taking the buyout. Anyhoo, I was just back there on Monday & Tuesday. I miss all "my" good stores. I'm leaving it up to you, Lynette & Kristen to keep them going for me! Have a great weekend!

Judy ~ I love the old photos. The cartoon cracked me up. ~ jb///
By the way... we also stayed at "Sam Lord's Castle" in Barbados. I think it is no longer a Marriott property any longer though. TOO BAD really. I just wonder if they had too many problems with it?

I can't get over how different the uniforms are to ours. Certainly in WW2 yours were far superior to the awful scratchy Khaki our lads wore.

The fact that floral arrangements don't last is what makes me really sad about them. I love the last one with the real items too. It's beautiful!

The flower arrangement is really sweet. Would never have thought to incoporate those things into an arrangement!

Thanks for staying in touch. Even when I was out of touch, I thought about you and prayed for you. I think about you a lot.

Take care and thanks for being a good cyber friend!

HE finally saw the post! It is Bill Bernhard, father of Anna and husband of Alice. He has a beautiful singing voice, and we had a lot of fun 30 years ago, listening to them sing.
