I finally got a moonflower blossom to show you! Deer keep eating this plant's leaves and buds, so it took a loooooonnnng time to get this one flower. I wish we had smell-a-vision so you could whiff the heavenly aroma. I'd bottle it, if I could. The bloom is about 4 1/2 " across, and it will be gone tomorrow - so ENJOY!
Next year, I'm going to plant more of it, but it will be on my deck, inside the fence so that deer can't get to it!

We had a fairly quiet holiday; our son and his daughters came to visit, swim in the pool and eat with us. His wife had papers to grade and had to study for her own classes (she's studying for her Ph.D.), so she stayed home. I made a turkey breast that my daughter bought for me at Costco; it was marinated in lime and tequila - and yum - was it ever good! I used a recipe for potatoes that I took from The Pioneer Woman and a broccoli casserole recipe given to me by Tiff. They were all wonderful!! I plan to cook each of them again very soon. I'll share the recipes if you want, just ask.

Moon flowers are common in Oklahoma. They were once considered a weed because they grew wild around the old out houses. They also come with a violet colored flower. I think they are really pretty, remind me of a hibiscus bloom.

I love the Moonflower. It's a shame it's so short lived.
I have an Astilbe plant that I look forward to blooming every Spring.
It gets this beautiful pink feather and I think "Oh, I'll take a picture of this" and by the time I run and get the camera, the beautiful pink feather is gone with the wind.....
I have never gotten a picture of it at it's peak. The time is too short.
I like geraniums better. They stick around for awhile......

I'm usually not big on flowers so quickly skimmed down to the test in your post. But then I actually looked properly at it, and even I have to say, that is one beautiful flower!

Well, your hard work for the moonflower paid off - it's gorgeous. I'm still tending my one lone tomato plant this season. That's the extent of my gardening. LOL.
Both flower posts are lovely....I don't know what a moonflower is and if I had any the deer ate them long ago. your creativity never ceases to amaze me, judy.
Smell-a-vision - that's good. I often wish we could transmit more than just vision and sound - smell and taste would work. LOL!
