Leftovers

This store is in Greensboro, NC. You may not be able to tell what it is (click to enlarge), but there is a box on the side of the building (behind the lamp post) that blows soap bubbles every minute or so. What a great idea! I have loved blowing bubbles ever since I was a kid, and now I do it every summer with my grandchildren. One thing they can count on when they visit here in the summer is sidewalk chalk and lots of bubble stuff!

These three spiders were walking on the railing of my deck last week. At first I thought they were all carrying something red, but I discovered that the red "ball" is a part of the spider's body. How odd!

My ligustrum bushes are in full bloom now, and the aroma is overwhelming! I like to use the branches in flower arrangements, but some people are allergic to it, so I don't.

What an ingenious ladder! I don't know if it is available or not, but I hope so. I'll bet it is a lot easier to carry than a regular ladder. I think you'd need to be sure-footed to use it, though.....
LOL!

Hi Judy, I think I would probably put my foot on the middle of the missing rung of that ladder!!!! it would be stronger with full rungs too.

There is plenty of sidewalk chalk and bubble stuff at our house too.

Cool looking ladder, but I bet it couldn't hold anyone who weighed more than Nicole Richie.

I love soap bubbles, what a lovely place to walk by!
I had to read your explanation, I didn't see the spiders first, just the red balls...
I have other allergies but fortunately I don't have a flower one and I love the smell of spring!
The ladder looks interesting but I'd rather use an old traditional one!!
Have a lovely day.

I remember those seeing those kind of spiders with the swollen red backs before.

I have mentioned before that sometimes your scrambled letters in the comments are like tea leaves.
For this time and one time only, it says: enypew. ooo pew? or any pew? It is trying to tell me something again.

How original (that box). Maybe I'll suggest our town put one in :)

What a wonderful idea - the bubble box! We blow them all the time, too.
The spiders are beautiful.
The ladder I would have liked a few years ago. I'm past ladder climbing now.

GREAT Ladder....
I too love Soap Bubbles...I think most people do...When I use to have parties for my Birthday I would make up little gift bags for people and they had all sorts of toys and fun Childhood things to do and play with, INCLUDING, "Bubbles"....Everyone LOVED it!

That is very interesting about those Spiders....I didn't know there were other Spiders besides Black Widows that had some kind of RED on them....They look like teeny tiny Trained Seals...lol!

Judy,

I love the idea of the bubbles in Greensboro. What fun!

Do you remember the Camel cigarette man who blew smoke rings from the billboard at Times Square?

He was up there for more that 25 years blowing out more than 200,000 million smoke rings.

The billboard was on the Claridge Hotel and was taken down in 1966 when they used the hotel as the setting for "Midnight Cowboy."

Ah! Memories.....

Read your post until the word box and then clicked on the picture and saw the box with the back end of the rhino.LOL
Then back to read the rest of your post to find out I was checking out the wrong box.
Must learn to read posts to the end.

What an amazing idea! Just great a shop that blows soap bubbles every minute! A really fun thing! Principally for the kids I guess...

Well, I would definitely say that this is an eclectic blog entry if I ever read one. From bubbles to spiders to strange ladders!
I visited a friend lately near Boone, NC and she has elderly neighbors with a bubble machine on the side of their house. When the grandkids arrive they set it off... blowing bubbles, playing music and with colorful lighting, to boot. (What neat grandparents)

I'm so happy blowing bubbles!
Do you think the spiders are blood suckers?

I love bubbles too!
That ladder looks cool, but I would be a bit wary using it.
