The Guide

Click to enlarge. I hope it will be readable. I have nothing much to say about it or rather, if I started, this post would have to be split into 3 or more parts.

*********
I finally went to the doctor today, and 2 prescriptions (one antibiotic) and 2 more over-the-counter drugs later, I am home. I stopped at Boston Market for meat-loaf dinners with roasted dill potatoes on the way home, but I am not sure that was the right thing to do for my stomach. The medicinal side-effects are horrible, you know. They've already started.

I hope the cure isn't worse than the flu. The pool in the previous post is amazing. The picture of the people in the boat with the shadow under it is just unbelievable.

I'm just wondering what happened to those adequate rest periods. Hope you feel better soon :)

The food from Boston Market will be free calories after the antibiotic side effects kick in.

I don't have to imagine the side effects, I'm still feeling them two weeks after the pneumonia from the flu has gone away.

Still, it's probably worth the price considering how bad I felt with this year's flu.

So, smile, things can get a lot worse.

Antibiotics can wreak havoc - eat some yogurt (trust me on this). I love the "hiring the female" tip sheet. Too funny.

Hi Judy, you gals sure got good working conditions back in the 40s!!
Glad you enjoyed the walk through IKEA and I hope you don't mind this "general" comment, I'm running out of time for individual answers.kksakkrs

If that "how to treat a woman" thing was a today blog, can you imagine the beefs it would draw?

Please remind me of how important it is to be friendly and courteous. I am afraid I have reached the age of cantankerousness.

"Husky" girls are more even-tempered? Good thing I wasn't working back then. I would have balked at that doctor doing special physical examinations, in case the women were considered physically or MENTALLY unfit.

I love seeing the things that prove the idiocy of humanity is hereditary.

Love the 1943 workplace guidelines!

Bummer. I hope the medicine does the trick, if you can survive the side effects. Feel better soon.

Interesting hiring tips. Oddly enough, most are very good ideas - just faulty reasoning behind them.

Feel better soon!

Hey - us 'husky' girls make good employees! Finally, a reason to not go on a diet!

:)

Here's hoping you feel much improved very soon.

A: I don't even want to comment on that guide....

B: Michele sent me to see if you're feeling better today...I always hate the side effects of medicines...ugh.

Shelly said...

O, that's funny! I've always said that skinny women are cranky...he he he.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

Pearl said...

heh, I know what you mean about unpacking that to comments.

I came back to read the article. It's a good thing I didn't live in the working world back then.

While I'm not a feminist, those do show how far we've come. Wow! #6 caught my eye particularly.

Oh, the Humanity!

I wanted to send this around to a few co-workers (both mail and female) and found myself nervous to even have my name attached to this article at work.

Thanks for swinging by HuFlungPoo

Second visit today but this time from Michele's where I was missed!
Hope the medecine is kicking in.

Judy: the Employment Guide is a riot. I especially loved the one that intimated that our delicate ears couldn't stand swear words. I think I'm often more shocked by what women say than men...but maybe it's because it's coming from their "delicate lips."
Sure hope you will be on the recovery road soon.

I won't comment on the hiring guide lest my comments become a 3 parter

clear soup and ginger ale

my last round with antibiotics was worse than the infection

hope you feel better soon

Do you think I should try it on my blog?

Judy if the yogurt is a problem use it as a cream!

You've REALLY had a tough time lately battling this illness!!
We have nearly every restaurant chain in this little city of ours, but we don't have Boston Market. I really like their food and cornbread.

I'm with you! I can't even start to comment, because it would never stop!!!! All I can say is it makes one wonder is she should giggle or sob!
Sorry for not visiting more often!
