I think we have all seen animals who would mother orphaned babies of other species, but this is one of the cutest and oddest I've seen. This mother dachshund took in the baby pig as if he were one of hers. Isn't that sweet?!
These photos came from a good email buddy, but he didn't say where he got them.
I was surprised to see how much fuzzy hair was on that piggy. My mom used to tell me stories of life on the farm when she was a girl, and she always had a favorite baby pig and lamb in each season. She told me she had to give it up because it hurt too badly when the animals were slaughtered. I don't think I could handle that either.

Thanks to all who offered opinions and advice about painting the kitchen. I have decided to patch the holes and apply primer to the walls first, and then paint some more choices to look at for a while, in all shades of daylight and at night. I am in no hurry, since it took me about 10 years to decide to remove the wallpaper - I guess I can handle a few more weeks!

Adorable! Isn't it something how animals have such big hearts for orphans too!
That piglet will soon be much larger than his "mommy". What a cute story.
Great love story. As for the paint....it will be better than wall paper....I regret every piece I ever put on a wall.
Those are the Sweetest pictures, Judy...I think it is an amazing thing when two species that shouldn't necessarily bond---DO! And a Beautiful thimg, too....!
Like you and your Momma...I couldn't take that either. To become so close to a dear dear animal and then have it be slaughtered....Well, I would find that too too painful!
There is something about Pigs that is so endearing...Look at the sweet little piglet---You just want to hug him, don't you?
I agree with you about the "songwriters"....It really is pitiful. I was very pleased though with the outcome of Best Original Score....That music is really BEAUTIUFUL, and Marianelli so deserving!
Somehow, I don't think that littly piggy will be going to the slaughter.
Awwwwww... how adorable. Just what I needed. Paint, I use Ivory Tower. Every wall, every room. Works like a charm. Yeah, I really have no imagination when it comes to walls.
That picture of them sleeping together is causing me to go into a diabetic coma. Too sweet to bear!
Cute! They grow so fast, piggy will be pretty tame with all that attention.
OK, that is the cutest thing I have ever seen!
I have never seen anything like that. Neat. Michele sent me. :-)
Your baby pig with the puppies trumps my newborn kittens post. Very cute indeed!
Very cute! And you are wise to take your time on the paint decision. Live with i a little longer. I know you'll do a great job!
Beyond cuteness:)
Innocence!
How sweet!!! And cute!
EEk!! Isn't that piggy adorable?? I love it's curly tail and it's fuzziness... just want to squeeze it!!
Here from Michele! *waves*
OMG... how cute is that!!!
Talk about a "reverse" ugly duckling. Cute piglet but grown, it will not be a beautiful swan. Oink!
Oh so cute! I want one!
awwww, that's just SO cute!
thanks for visiting :-)
That is just TOO CUTE!!! Thanks for that smile this morning! :)
How cute little piggy I love it..I think they grow very fast and a great love story
Hi there, first time commenter. My cousin sent me this link and I sent it to someone else, who tells me that she knows the family and that this is for real! Adorable!
Pigs are really hairy critters. Mean too, if you try to get close to their babies....
But so fun to eat!
Reminds me of the ugly duckling who was really a swan.
It won't be long and that pig will flatten these pups! cute!
Someone sent this to me in email too. Adorable.
