I feel like Dobby the House Elf - and I don't even have magic in my favor!!We had company all weekend and while I did all that I did willingly, I feel a bit like poor Dobby in Harry Potter - an overused and under-appreciated house slave. My son and his two children were here Friday night for dinner and they stayed overnight. Saturday morning a friend of mr. kenju's arrived from NYC, and we picked him up from the airport. He was here until 6pm Sunday evening. At 1pm, I had a 2 & 1/2 hour meeting with a bride and her mother. Saturday evening saw the arrival of the other four grandchildren, who were spending the night so that their parents could attend a party.

What this all means is that I cooked a fancier than usual breakfast, lunch and dinner three days in a row for at least three and up to seven people each time. I ain't used to it, people! And neither is my dishwasher, which is starting to groan loudly at being used more than once a day. What I need is some magic, so I could twitch my nose and meals would suddenly appear on a well-set table, and just as magically the dirty dishes would wash themselves and march into the cabinets! What do you think the odds of that are???

I'm afraid the chances of that happening are slim to none. Sorry.

Hi Judy, you've seen the answer to your question many times on many blogs...... Nil, Zip, Nada, None, etc. etc. etc.

Oh no! Your friends who commeted above me seem to suggest that there really is no chance of thsi happening. Please tell me they are worong - I want to believe. Really, I do.

Oh, did you make. I read somewhere that you made lots of tea? (wink)

Yes, I sent me. It is becoming a Sunday evening tradition that you are the final person to play the M&G. Hmm, someone might think I wait for your comment. Shh, let's keep it out secret.

Now, can I make YOU a cup of tea?

Just wait till your Grandchildren get to the stage where they say' Grandma can I cook tonight?' And I say 'Yes yes a thousand times yes!'
And they're good:)

The odds are about the same as that elf in my house changing the sheets and doing the laundry left behind those house guests. There are two chances of that happening as betty said, and Slim's in Texas. Love the company, hate the work. It's so quiet when it's over isn't it? That's so you can crash into that recliner and get a pick me up nap before you grab the vacuum cleaner. Have a good week.

I know just how you feel, Judy. Whenever hub's family comes in from Canada, I find myself making 3 meals a day, sometimes more for extra friends or relatives who come to visit and see his Canadian relatives as well.
Every year, I fantasize about using paper plates instead! LOL.

Fortunately, most of them are glad to help out in the kitchen. I do love their company, but it can be a lot of work sometimes.

Hope you're rested up by today!

If you find a way to channel this kind of magic, please send it my way!

I have been waiting for that magic too, ever since I was born :)
Never lose hope, though...just in case!
Happy Monday to you!

Shoot, being a bachelor it takes me a week to fill up my dishwasher. Wonder if they can die from being underused...

Speaking of being a bachelor... any leftovers?

I so can relate my friend! This weekend was Lane 2's birthday sleepover bash. 15 teenage girls can eat A LOT of food!!! Oh and the only dishwasher I have is me!!

I hope you had fun in between all the cooking and cleaning. We sure did!

My children now go to their grandmother's house and cook for her or take her out to a restaurant. Even Thanksgiving, some of her grandchildren take over the kitchen. If you wait long enough, it may happen to you.

I don't think the odds are good either, Judy. Sorry.

I am sorry to say that I think the odds are equal to zero! I wish I could send you a house elf! (actually, wish I had one myself, just because I'm lazy)

I would have served my guests pizza on paper plates at least once. LOL
