A Funny Thing Happened......

We had company here for dinner tonight - a sort of Pre-Thanksgiving/Happy Birthday meal for good friends of mine and mr. kenju's. After I cleared the table of most everything, I was cleaning up in the kitchen and my younger daughter came in to talk.

She looked into the dining room and saw my cat Eclipse (the one I call Clipsie) standing on one of the chairs, inspecting what was left on the table. A few minutes later, Clipsie was dipping her paw into the cream pitcher, licking it and then sticking it into the sugar bowl, licking it - and repeating the process. When I went to retrieve the sugar and creamer, the cat was looking quite pleased with herself! Where there's a will........

That's so funny. I love my cats. I have a dog too but my cats are sneakier than my dog and remind me more of my children than the dog does.

Hope your Thanksgiving is a special one!

I'd better make sure my cat doesn't get online to yours or all hell will break loose here. When Keats was a kitten he would answer the telephone - unfortunately we never taught him how to take down a message.

happy thanksgiving from down under ... via Michele's .. of course!!

That is too cute! Our family cat used to wait for us to leave the butter or sour cream on the table and then have her own little "dinner" with them!

Now that's a cat with discriminating taste.

Kenju, may you and your family have the best of Thanksgivings.

Don't eat too much - that is to say, unless you want to!

I've always loved the wisdom of cats. They seem to have an innate ability to pursue their goals no matter what. As a mere human, I appreciate that.

You describe scenes so well, Judy. I imagined standing there watching it all unfold. I am so glad you were all able to celebrate Thanksgiving together, and wish you many more occasions that draw your family to the same time and place.
