Fabulous Chalk Art by Kurt Wenner

Aren't these wonderful?! I found them on another site and I just had to steal them for you. I didn't save any info about the artist, but I am sure you can go*gle him for info. I love the classical bent of his art works.

I have seen some chalk art from an email, but these are different. Isn't that amazing how 3D it looks when it is really all flat? It's in the angle of how you look at it, too. So cool!! Thanks for sharing.

Michele sent me to say hello. :)

I have seen chalk art like this when I lived on the central coast. It is fun and playful and a good use of prespective.

Hello from Michele.

Aren't they unbelievable? I'd love to see them in the flesh - so to speak. I hope they manage to earn a decent living. It seems sad that they are so ephemeral- like sand castles. Popped over from Naomi's - whilst I was this side of the pond:)

I find it interesting that there are no little fences or block device to protect the artwork and keep people from walking all over it.

I've received various emails with some of these types of pictures attached (although not these particular ones). These artists are amazing. It's just so unbelievable that they create such masterpeices only for them to be washed away with the next rain or street-cleaner!

To really appreciate these artworks you need to see them off-angle as well. They only look real from one perspective--if you see a picture taken from another vantage point they look freakish. Seeing the same picture from two angles, the good one and any other one, is amazing.

Great pictures. Stunning and making a point too.

Really neat. The illusion is amazing, isn't it? I saw a series of photos of an artist (the same one? another person?) who did this kind of thing and the interesting thing is they showed the work from the optimal angle and then from a different angle where you could see how the illusion was created, which involved stretching out certain elements and playing with scale a lot. In short it looked incredibly distorted. Thanks for posting these. Michele sent me to tell you all that. :-)

I've seen chalk art like these before, and they never cease to amaze me.

I look at that and I think that God really must have left out a huge chunk of my brain and given it to that artist.
I'm dumbfounded!
