Trip Notes, Two

Meet Inanna, of Anything Goes. She is from an area near where I was raised, and she works a second job in a newish restaurant there. When I knew I was going back home for a visit, I asked her for the name of the place. It turned out I had already eaten there about 3 times, and had met the chef/owner. The person who owns the building that the restaurant inhabits is an old friend of mine, so she was pleased when I asked to eat there again.

When we entered, I asked the hostess to sit us at her table, even though she was serving a large group in a private room that day. We had to wait a bit, but she came around the corner and I said "Inanna?" and she said "Kenju!", so we were on our way to getting acquainted. As usual, when I meet other bloggers, I feel as though I already know them, and Inanna was no exception. She's very pretty (even with no makeup and hair in a ponytail). She was able to find a few minutes here and there to drop back to our table and chat, but of course, it wasn't enough time. It never is.

I had started reading her posts several years ago; mostly because she came from an area I know well. I stayed to read about the angst created by her divorce, since my daughter was going through much the same thing at the time. Recently, she has written about the fire that burned her home and everything in it, including her beloved cats. They were not easy posts to read, but knowing what someone goes through in that horrible situation can be invaluable, especially when someone you know has a fire later on.

Inanna, it was great fun to meet you (my 9th blogger!) and I was happy to be your 21st!

And what did we eat? I had a fried green tomato sandwich on grilled bread with special bacon, coleslaw, and the best three-berry cobbler I've ever eaten! The second best part about the dessert was - it was comped!

JUDY! This is a great post and you've shown me a new and interesting blog- but most of all- it's beautiful you! I don't think I've seen a recent picture of you and I am just loving putting a face to a name. This post makes me want to me you in person, even more. We need to make it happen.

If my sums are correct petrol prices here in UK work out at about 8.55 USD for an imperial gallon - most of that is tax and excise duty.

i just posted about a similar thing...meeting bloggers. isn't it neat how blogging leads to actual relationship with people?
