More Maxine and a Rant

This is usually my attitude when I am cooking....I prefer not to be bothered while I am doing it. If you ask questions or try to watch and talk, I'll burn everything or it will be underdone or I'll forget some key ingredient.

Ewwwwww! Wash your hands, people!

Gas prices that high should come with a car wash, interior cleaning and a driver, don't you think?

What is it with the people who write the word verifications? What is their fascination with the letters z, x and q? Why must they squiggle the letters so we can't easily tell what they are? Why do they persist in using strings of letter combinations that are hard to decipher, such as "bpgqd" or "ftfhblij" and placing them so closely together that you couldn't fit a hair between the letters? Huh? Riddle me that, Batman!

I'm BACK! As soon as I have had time to unwind and collect my thoughts, and read the 120+ emails I have to sort through.......I'll post again.

Hi Judy, you must have been away. 120 emails. My, my. A popular lady, as ever!

I love your Maxines, and I agree with the word verification crew. Why do I get the feeling a small group of people are sitting around a table at Blogger and covering their mouths while snickering and pointing to all of us who have trouble deciphering their handiwork?

Word verification is a sore point with me, too. I use bifocals for everything except the computer, since it is the perfect distance to see. But word verification is HARD!

sometimes on the word verifications, I can't tell "m" from "n"

Of course, right now my word verification word is "owepee"...LOL!

I have so wondered the same thing about the word verifications!

But I actually like today's word verification: pazha! I think I might use it from now on to express agreement. As in, word verification people are a peculiarly irritating breed. Pazha!
