Over the weekend, I put my photo albums and my blogroll in the sidebar. I did it with Bloglines, since it is simple and I don't understand how to do it any other way. But I'm frustrated, because there is at least one other blog that needs to be included; a blog you need to know about, and it can't be included with Bloglines. For some odd reason, Bloglines refuses to recognize this blog name. So I am putting it here, and I hope you will go to it and read some of the archives, and see what a funny woman she is - and then put her in your own favorites list. She is Tiff, of:

http://noaccentyet.blogspot.com

and tell her Judy sent you, okay?

I feel the same way about music on blogs. I know the person who put it there is trying to be nice but it just seems rude to me as I like to choose whether I listen to something or not.

Odd. I can't think of any reason K's blog wouldn't work with Bloglines, Judy. On the other hand, I've never worked with Bloglines since I just list my linked blogs on the side of my blog. And don't really use those either since I have the blogs I visit listed on my RR homepage...that all sounds so complicated!

Oh! Forgot to say, I hate auto-loading music also, Judy. I haven't notice it much recently but there used to be a lot of blogs that did it. Eventually I stopped visiting all of them since I hated sound popping up unbidden.

I totally agree with you on the music blog thing. I find it so aggravating. It reminds me of the people who drive around with the car stereos blasting. It gives me the same irk. The worst are the ones where I can't find the button to shut it off. I have removed most of the people who play music from my blogroll because it bothers me THAT much. Many times I forget who has music playing. This is my scenario. It is late. The house is finally quiet. I go to my computer so that I can catch up on my blog reading. I forgot that my speakers are on. I click on a blog and YIKES! The child I finally got to fall asleep is wide awake and screaming. Blog reading is over. *sigh Second scenario. We have a computer room. My husband is on his computer in the same room. He sometimes falls asleep in his chair. I am just quietly here going down the blogroll and YIKES! I can’t shut the speaker off fast enough and it wakes up my hubby. I am offended that I have to remember to my speakers OFF just because I am trying to read a blog. Sometimes I listen to my own music while I am reading. The only music I can listen to while I am reading is my classical play list. It is funny you mention this because yesterday I was thinking I need to put a reminder on my links to remember the ones that have automatic music. I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way.
Thank you for the new link!
Have a wonderful day!

I gave up using audioblog. anything that requires another password is hostory around here as I've hit my lifetime limit of (three) passwords. Because when you add those to three sign in names there are 4 billion, 756 million and 3 combinations.

I LOVE the green over here, tra-la,tra-la. It's so verdant and gentle. Your page is beautiful!

I totally agree about the music. It is very distracting, especially if it's a style of music that I don't care for.

Oh man, I *despise* music loading when I surf onto a website. I despise it so much that I hit the back button and don't bother staying.

That's six for six now. I hope that people who have music on their blogs will see these comments and remove it!

It's funny Judy, I keep my sound off all the time so I don't hear what music people have going on their blogs...If there is something that needs sound, I turn it on...then turn it off after...Cause there are other extraneous noises (if one is on AOL...) that I don't want to hear...Depending on the music, I don't think I would mind it...but, this way, I can make the choice of turning it on or not!

Will go visit that link, my dear, right now.

I don't like music when it starts with the page. It's ok if there's a link to music and you can choose to click it or not, but not automatic opening.

Music on blogs makes me unable to concentrate while I'm reading the post. The good news is that my laptop's sound doesn't work anymore. I guess that's sort of good news in a weird kind of way.
If there's something I want to hear, I have to go get one of the other laptops from my kids.

I can't get your new blog's feed in bloglines, but I do have Tiff's. Isn't THAT odd?

One time when I visited a blog, a song played about getting high, and I don't mean up a ladder! Then it got nasty, because he sang about licking cats, so I guess he use to be a vet.

Anyway, I'll go visit the blog you linked to, Kenju. Nice to see you again!

I agree -- with the music, and with Tiff! She's not to be missed!

Blogs with music tend to take a very long time to load. It doesn't matter much to me right now.. my sound board or speakers or something is on the fritz so any sound is bare minimum if I can hear it at all. I guess that means that most of the you tube things are wasted as well...

Looking good around the place!

I can't concentrate on writing with music playing, which is a bore, but there it is.
I'm still at the marvelling stage when I get music on someone else's blog but don't listen to it for long. I will follow your link tomorrow - I'm late for bed but another thing I don't care for is too meny links on one post. I'm always in a rush and think I'll just pop over to whoever and before I know it am twice round the globe following the links and the morning has gone.

With you on the music. I can't even get my audio player to work on blogger, but I would never do one of those auto-play jobs.

I hate when I happened to check out the site of a commenter, it loads and Pantera begins to blast out of my speakers here at work. Kind of embarassing.

I am with you when it automatically comes an and starts playing but I am thinking about posting what i am listening to when I am writing my post. Several of my commenters do that on their blogs and I have found lots of great music that way! :)

I guess dial up has some benefit...it would take hours to load music for me to hear. I keep my computer on mute anyway. Your blog is looking lovely dahling. I like looking at your floral and family pics.

rennratt said...

I don't like auto loaded music, either. I make sure to mute my speakers before running through my daily list of travels.

Just in case.

And TIFF? She totally RAWKS.

I hate auto play music, too. I usually have my sound off anyway just because of this.

I'm behind you on the music thing - big time!

And thanks for the linky action. You are too good to me. I'm so confused about why things work and don't work, and stuff....and yet, can't be bothered to dig deeply enough to find out what's really going on.

Yes, I'm just that lazy. :>

Judy, thanks for sending me over to No Accent Yet. Fun blog!

Hmmmmmmm......so sorry about the music. I guess.
But the music stays. Simply because "I" like it and hey, if we can't like our own blogs, well gee....then what's the point.

Judy, you know I recall having that same issue with bloglines awhile back. I believe what I had to do for some stupid reason was to add the "www" after the // for that one blog.

I used to have a website with auto music ... but mine was only a few measures of a tune then it quit by itself. It no longer exists. I didn't even know you could do that with Blogger or with Wordpress. Hm.

I agree about the music. It's like these people are still living in the 90s. It's not impressive to have music playing with your blog, and it's annoying when I have other music playing via itunes. Another annoying web-site thing: big long flash introductions. So unnecessary, not interesting, and time consuming.

I'm so with you on the music. SO with you!

Hi, Michele sent me :-)

This may sound weird, but I actually have my speakers turned completely off when I use my computer. I don't care for any of the noises - all the beeps, prompts, etc. And the music on many blogs takes too long to load so it "plays" in lurches on my dial-up connection. Maybe someday I'll get w/ the program and get high speed, but for now, I prefer just reading anyway. Silence is something our culture seems to hate nowadays. I rather like it. :)

Interesting Q. I like your blog. That cartoon about the cell ph user had me cracking up!
