Yesterday as I drove to work, I was tooling along in the center lane of a 5 lane highway, going about 69 mph in a 65 mph zone. I wasn't in any particular hurry. In my rear-view mirror, I spied a car gaining on me fast and as he almost reached my bumper, he made a big show of gunning his engine to at least 85 and sped out to the left around me as if I were the turtle to his hare.
"Where is a cop when you need one," I thought. I had already seen two State Police cars and I figured that was enough within a five mile area. However, I was thrilled to see - some two miles down the road - the flashing blue lights on the side of the road behind the idiot who passed me with such fury. "There IS a God" is the first thing that passed through my mind and then as I passed the two vehicles, I spotted his license plate.....it was "Zoomie." Serves him right!
Oh, I love it. That happens to me all the time. Usually I am going 75 in a 70 mph zone and I get passed like I was standing still. I have thought the same thought many times but never had it fortune to see them stopped. Just delightful.
ReplyDeleteYeaaaaaaaa for those of us who only go a few miles over the limit! (half serious, half joking)
ReplyDeleteSo rarely does this happen...glad you got to see it.
ReplyDeleteI guess they are there....
ReplyDeletelol serves them right.
Don't ya just love it. How stupid to put Zoomie on his plates. That automatically takes him out of a warning catagory.
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you!!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen!!! It's great to see a bona fide idiot get what he deserves.
ReplyDeleteThat happened to me once. I have never experienced such joy and feelings of self-righteousness.
ReplyDeleteGlad the policeman was there, and not here. I do have a tendency to drive too fast!
ReplyDeleteIts nice to know some people get their come-uppance!
ReplyDelete69mph in a 65mph zone. You dare- devil you!
ReplyDeleteWhy do we feel such reward when something like that happens? Only recently we were headed to Tulsa on the turnpike when one of those "zoomie" idiots flew past us. At the Tulsa exit the Highway Patrol had him pulled over and Ron and I only had to exchange a laugh knowing what the other was thinking. This guys tag was probably "Zoomie2".
ReplyDeleteDid you just want to pull over and say "ha" to Zooomie? I would have wanted to.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Doesn't happen often enough though.
ReplyDeleteI also like it when there is someone really impatient on a single carriageway road, who gets past you and then you pull up behind them at a junction - what did it gain them?
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to see "Zoomie" pulled over. That does not happen often enough.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the police would have much problem with pulling "ZOOMIE" over... I would definitely change my license plate if I were he.
ReplyDeleteI bet the police enjoyed pulling him over. I often wish I had a button on my dash to open the tailgate and a sign saying Do come in!
ReplyDeleteSometimes justice happens... I shouldn't, but I feel smug when I'm passed by a speeder, only to pass him (or her) on the side of the road with blue lights in the car behind!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I never get to see the idots get pulled over, good to know that it does happen :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh, your deeds will come back to bite you in the butt if you are not careful! good for the policeman...didn't you just want to run up behind his bumper and flash him a smile?
