Poor bird. It was 107 degrees inside my car when I got in it at 5pm yesterday - I can relate.
Great shot Judy. I have seen the panting birds also and it makes me feel badly as I look out of my air conditioned home. This has been a brutal summer. We hit 117 actual temperature yesterday.
What a great picture Judy---Poor sweet Cardinal...The weather there sounds really horrendous, my dear...I hope you get some relief, soon...!
Poor, poor hot feathered friend. He probably thought the water would be cooling and got a dreadful surprise.
P. S. It's 96* in Tucson at 1 pm. Many areas are getting hotter weather than we have had.
And that featherless head. Mites? Trauma from attacking her image in the side-view mirror? Poor Chernobyl bird.
Too bad they can't just jump in the pool!

She was probably wondering why you didn't hurry and take the picture so she could get out of the sun:)
