A Tiny Wrist Corsage + More Rants

Working at the flower shop on Friday, I learned a new way to make a wrist corsage, which is especially nice for younger girls. It is attached to a slightly more than 1" wide double-faced satin ribbon, which gets tied onto the wrist in a "shoe-string" or double-loop bow. I enjoy learning new ways of doing things!

Remember my recent rants?  I have more (and you must be tired of hearing them).  I shall rant on; however.....

The upstairs heat pump went out two days ago. The capacitor (whatever that is, and it costs a small fortune.

The plumber was unable to find a re-build kit for my old faucet - so it has to be replaced - another small fortune spent (or will be soon.)

The yellow algae in the pool has come roaring back with a vengeance. Apparently it really likes the Alkalinity Up and the 8 pounds of chlorine and quart of algaecide I put into the pool over the last few days. Sheeeesh!

I'm still waiting for the new stove hood to arrive, and the new stove top cannot (should not) be installed until it does. So......nearly two weeks after the new one arrived here, I'm still waiting. BAH!!

Aw man! When it rains it pours at your house, too.

Oh Judy, I sense a boils and sores period when annoying things come in bunches. Lets hope this is a mini.

It all seems to come in waves when it comes to home ownership. Usually when you least expect it. Sorry to hear about the house junk.

I love the wrist corsage. It is darling.

That's a beautiful corsage, Judy.

For the inquiring minds who want to know: Normally, a capacitor is an electrical device that stores an electrical charge. It is, essentially, two materials that will conduct electrical current separated by a "non-conducting" material. A capacitor is used to keep the electrical current from flowing until/unless a sufficient amount of electrical charge (enough to overcome the "non-conductance" of the "non-conducting" material) has accummulated.

If that doesn't set you to giggling, Judy, you really are beset by your problems!

We are having a new cloakroom fitted and it's one problem after another. I think that's what's made me ill!

Good luck with yours!

P.S. I want one of those wrist corsages for my granddaughter Hope. It would be so lovely...for about five minutes before she got it caught in a tree. LOL

Love the wrist corsage. As to the reasons for your rants ... I used to say "it could be worse" but then it usually was...so I just try to grin and bear it !

We have already replaced one capacitor and maybe a second one soon and this is a relatively new house. At least I think it is a capacitor... or some such thing. With mom still in the hospital, I don't have time for this. I was most distressed that the three days of lower temps and lower humidity passed me by and I was unable to do all the work back behind the fence in the tickland that I really, really, really needed to do. I still have some plants that desperately need to get in to the ground.

I love this wrist corsage. It looks like a gardenia which is my favorite flower in the whole world.

House stuff going on here, too. This morning my handyman took all my kitchen cabinet fronts off to refinish, a major undertaking, and did some bathroom plumbing. Verizon came to switch out my phone # which the alarm company was using to monitor our whole building. My daughter has an opportunity to buy a small house locally and I told her she is crazy. If I didn't already live here, I would be renting about now.
