Tap Dancing vs. Exercise

Yours truly, age seven. Now tap dancing is great exercise!! Maybe I need to take that up again? Tap dancing isn't artificial exercise - it's very taxing and good for the whole body! (Please try not to notice the weird spacing here - I have no control over it.) I'd hope, if I took up tap dancing again, that they wouldn't make me wear a costume like this....lol. It was baby blue with silver edging and a lot of ruffles. It was for one of my dances at the yearly recital, titled "Three Little Girls in Blue."  One of those girls is deceased now, and I never knew what happened to the other one.
I saw some interesting license plates this week:  One said "SNAAAB" and it was on a very fancy Saab convertible. The other one was on a big SUV and said JNKNTRNK.

Here's a good quote:

What a pitiable thing it is that our civilization can do no better for us than to make us slaves to indoor life, so that we have to go and take artificial exercise in order to preserve our health.

George Wharton James, journalist, author, and speaker (1858-1923)

I think tap would be great exercise! My sister took lessons years back at 40+ and loved it though it took her awhile not to be sore. The best part would be the fun and music too. Way ahead of the old treadmill.

Love the photo! Tap is great excerise but my love became ballet. Ahh, to be that flexable again :)

Now, I'm into Tai Chi :)

You are just too adorable. I had a cousin who joined a tap troup and put on shows when she was in her late 60's. Never too late.
The date on that quote makes us realize we have had this problem a long time.

Adorable photo. I have a few friends my age who take tap dancing lessons regularly and appear in some of the senior productions at the local theater. Are you ready for that? It does keep them fit!

You were quite a lil' cutie -- and now you're a big cutie. There's a group of elders here who call themselves The Granny Apples and still dance. I wish I could.

I've always wished I could tap dance. I have a friend who's 82 and she performs with a tap-dance group. She can kick higher than her head!

AAh - you look so sweet! I've always admired those tap dancers in old films who seem to go so fast!

It is great exercise though - there are adult tap dance classes round here and they are very popular.

Nice long legs!
If you start - and I think it is great exercise - do be careful. I went mad at my first aerobics class and broke my leg.

So you are one of those "leggy" gals. What I would give to have seen that dance trio.

I love that photo! You are adorable.

You look lovely. Your knees remind me of mine at that age, always scuffed and scarred. :(
