If you are going to the dentist for a procedure involving the high-speed drill, leave your hearing aids at home. I'm jus sayin'.......(otherwise, the resultant sounds are more ominous than usual.)
As it turns out, my tooth didn't break - it was an old, old porcelain crown that cracked in half - leaving a jagged edge so sharp it is a wonder that I didn't cut my tongue on it. I now have a temporary crown; placed there with heavier than usual cement, so that it may last six months or more (please God) before it has to be replaced. Yay.
The car passed inspection with flying colors. All I need to remember is to have the tires rotated at my next oil change. I can do that.
The plumber had a not so pleasant answer for us, however. There is a leak under the guest room toilet which necessitates it's removal and Lord knows what else to repair it. He cut off the water lines to that bathroom, so we have to use another one until he comes to repair it on Friday. Boo. As I said yesterday, it's always something. I just have to remember this: it could be worse!

The last time we had a toilet removal situation, it was $800. Thank goodness we have 2 others to use and you have others to use, so that's something positive!
Besides, wouldn't you rather have toilet problems than no toilet at all?? I don't think I would enjoy digging holes in my back yard for "elimination". :-p
Lets see: one OK, two really good and the last boo hiss. You are right, it could have been worse.
So glad your tongue is now safe. A wounded tongue would be critical to an admitted talker.
Those plumbers really have it made.... always needed!
Thank you for mentioning the dentist - I needed to reschedule my appointment. :) You are right about that drilling noise - awful. I have switched to an all-chick dentist office and it's so fun to go in there - they make it so much better.
As my dear departed friend Ken Jordon used to say..."If it isn't one thing, it's ten...!"
So true! Well, two out of three are now fixed...good for you, my dear! And, just think...this is Thursday---so, just one more day and the leak will be fixed, too...! And it only cost $1,000! (not)
Hooray for the car! Glad your tooth is stable and even though soon to be capped. It's so cool to keep your teeth though expensive but I keep reading good teeth add to good health as we age.
Glad you got that tooth fixed and the car passed. Ouch on the plumber and yeah, it can always be worse. Let's see that's three and trouble comes in threes -- so perhaps you're
safe for a while.
it could be your teeth than need removing!! ;)
good luck with the plumber
Dentist drill plus hearing aid would drive me nuts.
Sounds like a plan to me. I think the sound of the drill is half of what makes me nervous anyway.
I think we are going through the same kind of stuff at the moment. My tooth needs a new crown, the shower is leaking and one of our cars needs a new tyre.
It is always something!
You win some you lose some. Good advice re the hearing aid. Actually I wear mine less often these days.
Like you said, "It's always something."
My TV is being temperamental and my computer is acting up!!
Let's see if this gets posted!
The sound of a dentist drill is more painful than the actual drilling. It doesn't bother my grandchildren because they have never been hurt by a dentist. I still remember when I was twelve and bit the awful dentist working on me. He stopped mid procedure and sent me home telling my parents not to bring me back to him. I was glad!
