A friend lost his 18 year old cat recently; just 3 weeks after I lost one of mine. I can truly say "I know just how you feel" , since my loss is still so fresh in my mind.
He told me an interesting story: He buried his cat in his yard, outside his dining room. That night, he went to look at her grave through the dining room window. As he stood there, a beautiful red, male cardinal lit on the grave, looked up at him and then flew to the window sill and looked at him again.
He said, "I got a message, but I don't know what it is." I told him I thought she was letting him know all was okay. We both got teary-eyed, but I see this as a comforting message, don't you?

A touching post... but when I saw the title of your post, I was wondering if you were posting a "pre-rapture" message for those of us "left-behind" :)
Yes, oh yes!
Awww. Animals seem to have an extra sense about things than us people. Maybe it's a naivete that we lose by becoming jaded over the years. I'm glad your friend experienced that comfort.
Yes I do, I think this kind of thing often happens, with humans too. :)
Yes, I do believe in messages. You have to trust your intuition.
That's a wonderful story.
Yes I think it's a message of comfort and what's still right in the world.
Yes, I would definitely consider that a good sign. There's a lot we don't know/understand about the workings of the world and the higher powers.
Ih Yes, I do! Absolutely! Years ago when I had my cat Mooney---She died and I was stricken. It was one if the most painful things and I just felt so horrendous, because I had to make THAT decision.
After that, I woke up one night and there she was sitting on the floor by my bed...And I was Sooo happy to see her...I picked her up and played with her, rubbing her tummy and she purred and I was saying to her---"Your All Right! Oh, I'm so happy you are all right....!" I turned away for a moment and then---I actually woke up and of course, she was gone. it it was so real to me, Judy...She WAS there and I could feel her living warmth and her soft fur....I took that as a really great sign that she was trying to tell me that Imdeed, she was alright, and it meant everything to me...!
So....I truly believe your friend got a sign that his cat was more than okay! It is wonderful, isn't it?
Such a sweet post, Judy.
I think it is definitely a sign. We all believe many things but know nothing, so we should remain open.
I believe he is right to take comfort in what he saw.
Lovely story.
I think Max sent us Daisy... the loving docile dog he never could quite be... as a thank you for loving him even the short time we were together.
As for birds, though.... our bluebird male epitomizes the concept of "bird brain", to such an extent that even his mate has given him several dressings down in loud voice over his "bird brain" pecking at the window when he should have been helping her build the nest.
I think Buddahs make sense when they say people come back as creatures. Makes me think twice about killing even a fly. When I see the robin in our garden I think of my mother.
And now I am teary eyed too.
A message indeed - and a good one, I think. :)
a wonderful and comforting story.
