This creepy possum was drinking water from the top of  my pool cover yesterday, but he moved away and went off the deck as soon as he heard me coming. It's no wonder that our pool covers only seem to last one year; considering all the animal claws they host. He was big - as large as my cat who weighs 10-12 pounds. I really don't want him around, so I hope the fox comes back and gets him.

Smart to let nature be the exterminator or at least scare it off.

You made me laugh. Funny how they are much cuter in picture books!

wonder if that is what is digging under my concrete air conditioning pad? trap has been set but nothing caught as of yet. animal control people do not come when it it is raining and been raining for 3 days. food was taken and trap did not go off? must be a smart one. since I am in the woods could be groundhog or a raccoon.

Possums are scary, with their giant teeth and scaly rat tails. I'll be happy for you if the fox eats him. I can say for sure that possum does not look appetizing to yours truly!

O'possums do tend to smell bad, and they do have sharp claws; but, as I have no pool cover to be ripped, I don't object to them too much. I'd trade the armadillos that frequent our yard for o'possums any day. *laughing* To each her own!

Wildlife can be so destructive but we took over their habitat.

It's funny...My dear Hungarian friend Hanna, (gone now...) used to feed a Possum that came up to her balcony. He was a very friendly fellow and he would actually wait for her to come and feed him--very domesticated....They are certainly not the prettiest of animals, are they? But Hanna loved him! And, he loved her for feeding him....!

It looks quite different to an Australian possum.

These things seriously freak me out. My old dog Cookie killed a baby one in the patio once. Yuk!

I think I might be glad we don't have possums in England!

We have a possum here too. And we put food out at night for the raccoon and or the possum. One or the other gets it. Mostly dry dog food from the grain elevator. Sometimes we put out raw peanuts for them too. We do not have anything their feet might harm.

Something dug up three of the plants I put out behind the fence... haven't seen possums here... possibly squirrels. We have stupid squirrels.
