Between the Car, Gas Prices and My Teeth.......*

I'm in the poorhouse!! I sent in the paperwork to get new stickers for my car license plate back in April, and it finally dawned on me that I had not received them yet because the car hadn't been inspected in over a year.  DUH.  The rules in NC are that you can't get new stickers unless you have your car inspected and they receive a report of it from an official inspection station. So I've made an appointment to get the car inspected this morning and I am hoping against hope that they will not tell me I need a bunch of stuff done to the car so it can pass inspection. If you are the praying type, please send up a few for me, okay?

Gas prices are reported to have come down as much as 10 cents in the last few days. I sure hope it will keep up that downward trend. I had to have two things done to my car last month that saw my credit card jumping to record levels, and adding $40-50 worth of gas every week isn't helping me lower that balance much.     :-(

I will go to the dentist this afternoon to see what needs to be done with the broken tooth I suffered yesterday. It feels as though half of it is gone - so I suspect she will tell me I need a crown. Ouch; for the pain of the crown and the pain of paying for it. Wish me luck there, too, please.

*I didn't mention plumbing. We've discovered another leak under the house. It's always something.

Wow - you've got a lot of things going on. Hope it lets up soon.

I have to drive my car around the city for work and live 20 miles from my job, so I'm putting in at least $58 twice a week. Awful.

Uh oh, Judy, sounds like a boils and sores period. Sure hope is is a brief one. Crowns are rediculously priced.
I know you dread the vehicle inspection but I wish we had them here. I had to give up walking my road for all the fumes from the worn out exhausts.
Hope all your inspections come out reasonable.
Our gas prices haven't budged but we have always been below national average. Still---

We just got back from Ireland where the gas prices were $12 a gallon. Everybody rides a bike instead. Suddenly $4 looked decent. As for your tooth: I know your pain! Good luck getting it fixed without complications!

What you need is a winning lottery ticket, and NOW.

Praying for you, since you asked me to.

Why does this stuff all happen at once? Maybe so we can enjoy the times it's not happening? Ha!

You know Judy....it IS always something. I've had my share of leaky pipes....I hope yours gets fixed as painlessly as possible.

Good luck with your broken tooth. Crowns are costly, but your mouth and it's health are pretty important.

I hear gas prices will continue to go down over the next month or so....Thank God. Take care... ~Joy

I understand this completely. Now I try to combine a lot of stops on one trip.. today... drop off specimen on way to doctor, then grocery shopping, pick up Dad's films, pharmacy and bank on the way back. Two more days to this week and two more doctor appointments.

Oh Judy, you sure are being hit hard between the car, gas and that tooth!

The only good thing I can say about all of this is: it's a good thing that the tooth didn't flare up while you were hard at work for Mother's Day.

What is that old expression..."After a certain point in life, it is nothing but Maintainence, Maintainence, Maintainence..." LOL.
Funny...but true, I'm afraid.

About Gas prices: They say that here in California--particularly here in Los Angeles, by Summer we will be paying $6. a gallon!!!!!

PRAYERS are coming your way, my dear, for everything you are dealing with...!

Oklahoma stopped requiring inspection stickers on our cars. There were still too many vehicles on the road that should not have passed inspection. The official inspection locations were making money on charging extra to pass a car that was not in proper condition.
