So.....tell me...

are you stuffed to the gills with a capital G?  I was on Wednesday, when we had our family Thanksgiving, but Thursday I ate more moderately, which was prudent of me, I think. I did make sausage patties for breakfast and were they ever good! My employer's brother gave me some bulk sausage that was homemade in Person County, NC and I have had some in the freezer for almost a year. It is about time to get another package (I hope.)  Ordinarily, I use some of it to make stuffing for Thanksgiving, but since my daughter was making the stuffing this year, I had to come up with another idea. Someone proposed I make the breakfast casserole, but I was so tired on Wednesday night that I couldn't face the idea of being in the kitchen. I did start making turkey stock with the carcass and turkey and rice soup is simmering on the stove as I write this.

Did you know:

Apples float because 25% of their volume is air.

Identical twins do not have identical fingerprints.

1/4 of the bones in your body are in your feet.

A hummingbird weighs less than a penny.

Most dust particles in your house are made from dead skin.

Donkeys kill more people annually than airplane crashes.

Falling coconuts kill 150 people worldwide each year, 15 times the number of deaths attributable to sharks.

The only member of the band ZZ Top without a beard has the last name Beard.

The bubbles in Guinness beer sink to the bottom rather than float, and no one knows why.

Who finds this stuff? Who makes the lists? I did know about the hummingbird because I have held on in my hand.

Oh yes with a capital "G". My sweet daughter hosted us in her beautiful home and a vegan would not have been comfortable around our table. We had a smoked turkey, a fried turkey and a ham for ten people. Yikes! All the traditional dishes were present and this granny loved looking into the faces of happy, hungry family. I hope you managed to get some much needed rest.

Your list at the end of your post may have changed my mind about wanting to get a donkey:)

YES, I am stuffed...both physically and emotionally; had a wonderful time with friends.

The 'fact' that struck me was the dust particles being of dead skin; ohhh, gross, isn't it?
Enjoy your 'Black Friday' :)

Your house must smell heavenly! So the dust in my house is me! Better vacuum it with respect.

I did know the ZZ Top one, but the donkey one sounds a bit worrying. Not that I've had any contact with a donkey, ever.

We had a very light Thanksgiving meal with my mother-in-law at her Senior Living Center. Large dining room, lots and lots of people. I'm not much of a turkey eater, so enjoyed the butternut squash soup and the roasted brussel sprouts that came with the entree.

I love knowing that coconuts kill more people than sharks! That's the kind of info that makes me smile!

I don't think I could cope with Thanksgiving AND Christmas.

Have you ever tried crumbling up the sausage and browning it... drain the grease. Scramble some eggs and mix with the sausage. Cook some bow tie pasta and mix with it. Then add pesto sauce... I get some at Sams or Costco in the big container. Toss all that together and add freshly grated parmesan cheese on top and tossed in. My dad LOVES this.

Sounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving you had.
Sausage balls are a good use for sausage. I buy the cheapest on-sale -- one week it had Paula Deen's picture on it -- for sausage balls.

What all did you have to google to find all all this info... and I hope you get more sausage....

Those are some fantastic facts, especially about the fingerprints of identical twins. I did know that dust comes from dead skin. I have a dandruffy husband. I vacuum frequently.

So many interesting facts, Judy...And to be honest, I didn't know most of them...! Thanks for this. And who knew Donkeys could be more dangerous than Sharks...!!

You amaze me with the energy you have....A Turkey Soup cooking as you write and doing more cooking this A.M. (Those saugeses sound Dee-licious!!)...PLUS everything else you do...! Bless You, my dear.

I knew none of these profound things, but now I'm ready for a new round of trivial pursuit. (It's been years since I played that.)
