Sunday, September 26

These photos were taken on Friday night. On Sat. morning, the clothes rack and several tables were pulled out onto the driveway just as the sale started.
The only things in the garage that weren't for sale were the refrigerators and the metal cabinets. I sold a lot of stuff, but there was too much left over and now I have to decide whether to haul it all to Goodwill or to put some things on Craigslist - or both. I cleared about one-third of what I made at the last garage sale. I don't know if that's a reflection of the economy or if it was a bad weekend to have it. I noticed in the newspaper this morning that there were at least 50-60 garage and yard sales in the area; maybe we had too much competition.

I always thought I had ours late.. October... but I do know this is a busy garage sale season. I would just take the stuff to different charities.

Say what you like Judy, with all the stuff you collect... Yours would have to be the garage sale of the decade.

Wow...that was some sale. I love garage sales, and have purposely decided NOT to go to any because I couldn't put another thing in my house if I wanted to. I NEED TO HAVE A SALE....BIG TIME. I'm glad you sold a lot of your things Judy; but I always hate when there is still so much left over to decide what to do with. Good luck.

P.S. I have to say how much I admire you for getting it all together for the sale. I havent' been able to do that. ~Joy

When you've decided you're done with it, call the Salvation Army... I believe they will come to your house and take it all away. Good luck.

We do not have garage sales over here but car Boot sales seem to be popular. You look up the car and pay to enter the site for the duration and then whatever you make on the day goes in your pocket. Some churches run the boot sales as fund raisers.

Oh my heavens! Have another garage sale next month, or haul it all to Goodwill.
I know I would go for Goodwill!

WOW that's a lot of stuff Judy. I have a rule to not take stuff back into the house....it goes to Goodwill. I never thought about Craig's List....good idea.

Glad I don't live near to you -- I'd have spent a lot and really need to have a sale myself.

Glad part of this is behind you.l
I have had 2 really big sales and when I moved this time - I said never again. Anyone that wanted something I gave it to them. Children took a few things and the rest went to the GoodWill. Felt like I was doing something for someone. You will make the right decision. I think the economy has a lot to do with sales at this time.
