I don't remember the artist here, but I have always loved the faces on these boys, as they listen to their friend tell a tall tale.
The blue velvet painted here is so realistic that you would swear you could actually feel it.

The top one reminds me of when it was fashionable to bind one's bosom and stick one's tummy out giving a faux pregnant look. One of the first pictures I bought demonstrates it and I still have it. It wasn't in my life time I hasten to add:)
I'm thinking that dress was not meant to do housework in.
You are enticing me to start looking for a museum near me. It really used to be hard to be a woman, but then that man looks like he had to spend a lot of time dressing also.
Sure makes me appreciat my sneakers and shorts.

Judy...I seem to be having a problem with your sute---I'm not sure why. So, I hope this comment gets posted. I read both posts about this Museum...What an interesting collection of Art....I look forward to Part 3. The Building is rather odd, isn't it? One does wonder what they were thinking...lol!
But, truly, as long as the Art inside is displayed Beautifully, personally, I think that is what really matters....!
